Plastic Figure Showcase Part Four Items I Have Found this time we will look at items that I have acquired recently. First I show a figure I found in a bunch of junk. Next we have a Mexican farm playset bag that has an unusual figure.
Plastic Figure Showcase Part Four Items I Have Found Odd Figure
Laurie had a day off and we went to a combination flea market/ farmers market. I walked the mostly empty market not figuring on finding anything. Just as I was ready to quit the market I found this dealer with three boxes of figures. I look through the boxes and found some interesting items including some AIP WWI. He gave me a price and I bought them. Sorting through the figures I found this odd piece. The front of the figure says Switzerland. Underneath it has Stevens Manufacturing. My questions are there more to the series and why it was made.
Plastic Figure Showcase Part Four Items I Have Found Mexican Farm Set
Laurie and I had several toy shows in December. One of the shows was near New Hope PA. I did not figure on getting anything just having a nice ride. Beside seeing some friends I ran into a dealer I had not seen in years. This dealer used to go to Mexico and would bring back Superhero Bootlegs and Marx reissues. He had not been there in years but I was able to get a few items. One item which I got and kept for myself was this farm set.
I bought it for the cabin and the one 45mm figure in the set.
The figure on the left is holding halberd! the other figure in set are a scarecrow and herders. The figure is 45mm. I wonder where they copied this figure.
I guess the figure with a halberd is serious about chicken dinner…
The figure with the huge ax/halberd is not a good sign for the animals in the set!
I like this set but pictures rest some deep observations to me as inside pack.
The axe looks like a big cutting timber axe to me and that is what figure with clothing looks to me.
They may be copies varied base in original other brand.Still rarw set to me.
Best
Three of the poses are copies, indirectly, from Britains and the fourth is familiar, without the axe, but I just can’t place the maker.
The halberds are ‘crooks’ a stick commonly used by a shepherd in the U.K.
