Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two June 2017 Cheirlea Figures

Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two June 2017The first two photos are figures from Cherilea of the UK.  When Cherilea first did plastic figures they used their old hollow cast molds.  Here we have two of the figures from the hollow cast molds.  We have shown the figure on right. The other figure is a mounted knight.

Cherilea made new molds and did other  figures. We have two figures from these later molds.  The figure on the left is an  Egyptian.  This figure on right is one of their  African natives.  Cherilea did nice small box set with Celopatra laying on a coach surrounded by slave with a fan and Egyptian vizer.  There are many interesting figures from this company.

I know these figures were made in Russia, My question is what is the name of the company who made them.  These figures  I bought at show here in the states.

Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two June 2017The figure on the left has two swing arms. The right hand is ring hand or missing an item. I have no idea what is in his left hand.  I believe  he is gas attendant from the UK.  The English Lifeguard from a glance some one would think Marx. It is not. The figure is marked England.

The Russian-WW2 above I do not know if are original painted .
Brand was PROGRESS from 70s set call “Soldiers in combat”. Also known as “Brest-Litovsk Fortress defenders”. Not longer in production since 2005.
During 70-late 80s!? approx were sold in color window box. Figures had some painted parts.
Last production packed in bags without any paints on figures.
Red Flag always was as separate piece.Set has 8 poses.
If i’m not mistake Kent sold some last not painted reissues here in US.

Progress also made some flat WW2 soldiers and sailors in plastic as well Russian knights NON FLAT in 5 foot poses with separated weapons sold fist in window boxes as well. They were sold in bags in last years and still around here in US as imported as well.
I got both sets with early ORIET and other sets in NJ in 2000 show direct from Russian importer that often appear and disappear,i forgot his name now .Sorry

Is the Lifeguard painted by Cherilea!?…

    • admin says:

The lifeguard is odd as it has the word England in a circle. I don’t think it is Cherilea. Waiting to hear from the English

      • erwin says:

Yes I just check my Cherilea are square base and not same .
Yet i know many had done around coping then too.
About flat cowboys ,I’m not too strong on those as many are premiums ,but i think are copies of the European brand ,i may be wrong.
I collect few premiums and way few flats only ,never do deep research on then .

The Life guard and the two knights are Hilco plastics.
Wilf Cherrington designed the Life Guard for Hilco as a later plastic range.
The two knights are from hollow cast moulds.
This has been covered in detail in the PLASTIC WARRIOR HILCO special, still available from Paul Morehead

  4. Erwin says:

The Cherilea first plastic knights exteacted from metal lead mold poses casting are the crusades and Saracens poses sets if I’m not mistaken.
I have then and recently sold a double pose set extra i had.
They sold high. The plastic is very fragile and are more 54 mm.Mine are 6 foot poses.
The above top knights I got some but in full silver painted in soft plastic and are under 54 mm more about 52 mm I will say.
