Peter Evans Figure Finds November 2016

Peter Evans Figure Finds November 2016, we are back once again with our very good friend Peter Evans. Peter  sends over from United Kingdom an interesting mix of figures.  You will see new, old and a conversion.

Peter Evans Figure Finds November 2016 Conversion

Peter Evans Figure Finds November 2016

We have a conversion of Peter’s. He took a foot Britains Herald Foot Trojan with spear and shield and converted into a mounted figure.

You can see Peter placed it on a Britains Deetail horse. The figure is repainted.  I like the colors he did the figure in.

In this photo we have a resin Indian and China copy of the Timpo Swoppet Redcoat.  The Indian is sitting cross leg with rifle. The Indian is Plain Indian. the tip of rifle may be broken. I have no idea if there are others in the series.

The Timpo Redcoat copy is interesting for several reasons. First the figure has yellow pants. Next the figure has spontoon. Unlike the halberd which was 14 feet long, the spontoon was six to seven feet long. The spontoon was used by non-commission officers to signal the troops.

Peter sent a box of modern soldiers. The box contained thirty figures in six poses. The poses are soldier running with rifle across chest, soldier with rifle back,  soldier standing firing, soldier advancing with rifle down, soldier with radio and soldier kneeling with rifle. The figures are 54mm. One negative the kneeling soldier tip of rifler breaks easy.

Next we have  Wonder Woman and a mystery figure. Wonder Woman is part of a series called Mighty Minis. they are up to their third series. The mystery figure is 45mm and is either a police officer or soldier.

I have a window box set of Redcoats made by Transogram. All of the legs are yellow.
One Officer and 5 privates. In my set, the officer has a sword, not a spontoon.

I’ve seen the Continentals and they have white legs. I have a few loose figures.

I believe the modern soldiers are the Caipo/FOV clones that there was a discussion about earlier. The last time I looked – TJ Maxx had small tightly packed buckets of them – 100 for $5.99.

I like that Herald Trojan conversion.

I have those Goblins. They are part of a Schleich-style series called Terra Fantasy, by Battat that was being sold at Target a year or two ago. They make good Trolls/Ogres for 54mm knights. Target still stocks Dinosaurs, farm and wild animal sets from this maker, but I have not seen the fantasy figures in my local Target for a while.

That painted mystery figure looks like one of the 8 poses of Italian police figures I have. They are 54mm or a bit under and cast in dark green hard plastic. I used that pose as an Italian Army officer. Nobody ever could tell me who made them, but here is one in a pic that appeared on Stad’s. Go to the second pic down and looks at the group of German and Italian officers talking.

      Thank you!!

At one time I had taken a pic of 7 of the 8 poses. I found the 8th later, after I had gotten rid of the others. They were in a massive Ebay lot I’d picked up and I know nothing more about them than that. I’ll send you the pic when I get home and check my pic archives. The missing pose was not particularly exciting. I may have taken a pic of it also.
