Hing Fat Japanese Compared

I trimmed the flash off of the old Hing Fat Japs and painted both old and new (the new ones had no flash to trim) a mustard color compatible with the Airfix Japanese I have. I’ve got pics of both old and new together and a size comparison of old, new and original Airfix, side by side. I’m keeping them!

When you paint figures all one color, do you paint them with a brush, or do you spray them? Also, do you do any kind of priming prior to the paint?

Don – I painted those guys about 3 hours before I took the pics. I clean then, trim the flash, use contact cement as a primer on the areas most likely to be flexed and while it’s still tacky, spray them. If there is a color I mix myself and I don’t think it’s a big enough job for an air brush, I prime them with a close color and then brush on the custom color.
