The London Toy show is moving from the Royal National Hotel to the Design Centre in Islington section of London. The move will give the promoters of the show of having one area for the vendors instead of spreading the showover several rooms. There is already word of discontent on this move away from Royal National. Years ago the show was moved to Alexandria Palace, which lead to much displeasure from dealers and having the show moved back to Royal National.
As one who has been to the Royal National I can see why the promoters of the show would want to move. The venue is small and dealers were placed in several rooms including one across the foreourt. (The Royal National is like two buildings. The lobby is on one side. The hall is on the other side. In the center of the hotel is a large forecourt where buses pull in as the hotel is used for tour groups.) The dealers like it for the central location and easy to get to the show. I like Royal National as Laurie could sleep late while did an early bird of the show.
