Odds and Ends Plastic Figures, such

Odds and ends is catch all for various  items some toy soldier related and some personal items.

First we have some information on Premier Plastic Company. Over on the space toy forum a reader Brian posted two articles on Premier Plastic Company. The first article was of a fire at the company in 1952 that did $125,000.00 damage. It burn through the second and third floor. No one was hurt. The second article gives a rough time when the company went out of business 1956. In July 10,1956 the company’s assets were put up for sale including machinery. Premier was situated in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Toy Soldiers of San Diego has released another photo drawing of the  North Vietnamese Soldiers.  It looks nice but I like to see the physical figure.

Here we have photo of a Tudor Rose Overland Stage Coach. Tudor Rose was an English Company that traded or shared molds with American Companies. I recognize Payton Horses, what else do you recognize from America.  I hope someday someone does a book on the company as it would be interesting. I have acquired over  the years in our trips to England many interesting figures from Tudor Rose  both in similar plastic and variations.  One the strangest thing for me to see was the Renwal caisson figures in other colors than white.

As how we did during the last snowstorm, not bad. Despite getting thirty two inches of snow, it was a minor inconvenience. The hardest part was shoveling the snow. I made a path to street and a neighbor helped  with part of the walk.  The one spot I was not looking forward to doing  was getting the cars out as I knew it would take hours. Fortunately we had two men show up and I paid them to shovel the cars out. Once we had the cars out we parked them up the street, where it had been already plowed. Now we will have to see if the city shows up or not remove the snow.

I remembered the snow storm he had in 1996 when we lived downtown , which was bad as this one. I hired a guy to help me dig out, but I still had to work on the cars the next day. I was shoveling the snow and throwing it to the other side of the street when a police car pulled  up. He said to me that I can not throw the snow into the street. I responded that I was throwing the snow to the other side of the street.  The police officer responded he did not want to  give anyone a ticket and let me go with a warning. I went back to shoveling and forty-five minutes another police car pulls up. I go not again and turn to speak to the officer.  In the car was my cousin and we talked for a few minutes. My cousin is now retired.

The boys were not thrilled when it was snowing, I had to get a path for them to go out. Once the snow was they went but were not happy to be in trench the cleared snow looked like, One problem for dogs was no grass areas to do their business.  They now have grass spots and the snow has compacted that they can go on top of the snow.

One final thing for Odds and Ends in March we will be celebrating our five year of using WordPress. We went over to this program after Microsoft stopped supporting their program Front Page.  I am glad we did as it has let me do more. I will be talking more about it soon.

What is the scale of the Stage Coach. Is it a fairly large item? I have a couple of Tudor Rose wagon items but they are close to 1/32 and I thought those Payton horses were much larger than that. At least the ones I have are. That would make the coach close to the Ideal coach size ???

From what I could tell it would be around Ideal size. the driver looks to be the wagon driver from Renwal Caisson set, which I know was sold over there. I was offered one at the Plastic Warrior, I passed as it would have been just too expensive to ship.
