That’s pretty amazing. All of a sudden I’m starting to envision the possibilities of 3D figure making!

  3. erwin says:

  4. Brian Johnson says:

    What scale?

  5. Carl Cwiklinski says:

Once they make a 3D scan they can “reprint” the figure in an scale you want and in black, charcoal gray, and I think white. I will attempt a picture of how the plastic actually looks (this is only the computer image). My figure was “printed” in gray and is a little shiny.

I had a 3d figure made of me, I got mine in black and white. I sent a copy to Stad, he can post it if he wants.

  7. Don Perkins says:

Hey Paul, let’s see Ed’s 3d. It might inspire me to get my own this September. After seeing Carl’s, I’m beginning to see all the possibilities.

  8. Wayne W says:

3D definitely has infinite possibilities for the future of the hobby. I am tempted to go out and splurge and buy a printer but have learned through hard experience to wait a couple years for the prices not only to drop but also the tech to improve as it gets refined. I am sure the colors available for printing will expand as the tech improves and market broadens. Then the sky won’t even be a limit.

  9. Wayne W says:

Agree, Paul; one of the reasons I’m taking a “wait and see” approach. But I’ve seen tech make enormous leaps in a short time so while I’m not holding my breath I don’t think I’ll be too surprised by what comes next. Awestruck maybe, but not totally surprised.
