As you know Mike Kutnick had a recent bout in the hospital, his very good friend Ed Borris want to give him a surprise, Mike would not forget. Ed contacted Plastic Underground and had them make a figure of Mike.
Ed had Plastic Underground do a Mike as an Alamo defender. As you can see the figure is armed to the teeth with a pistol and bowie knife. We heard that Mike is thrilled with the figure. Well done.
Nice Work !
It is a great likeness of Mike! Great sculpting & Painting by Jason. Could be a new line for him. We could all be Alamo Defenders or Civil war vets.
That is great! What an awesome tribute and act of friendship!
AWESOME !
I have to admit that the photos did cheer me up, brought a smile to my face. Ed can’t wait to get them in the mail so he can drive them over personally! [I am not cleared to drive until the 26th]. I told Ed I would be bringing Mini Me to the shows to display him. Ed I don’t know how to thank you, but I will, somehow, someway, when you’re not looking…
I never sit with my back to the door. I will say everyone I sent the pictures to did recognize that it was you. You’re supposed to look mean, I mean you have a bunch of dudes charging you with pointy things.
I have it on good authority that Mike is the great, great, great, great grandson of Jim Bowie and you know I wouldn’t make that up.
There had to be somebody at the Alamo, at some point in the fighting, that looked just like that figure. Since we now now he’s a descendant of Jim Bowie, it might as well be Mike.
Me thinks Kent was pulling your leg about the relation to Jim Bowie. Don’t think Jim was of Russian descent.
Well, apparently I didn’t know Kent well enough (ordered from him, but never met him) to recognize his sly humor. But since Jim Bowie was born in Kentucky, and spent time in Missouri, Louisiana, and Arkansas before settling in Texas, who knows who could be distantly related to him. But apparently not Mike Kutnick.
Well, if he was and I don’t know for sure he isn’t, I would have thought he would have mentioned it by now. I just think the odds are dubious at best.
Ed, I see that Barry Carter just posted a vendor update, and our mutual toy soldier comrade Rich Egan is now a confirmed dealer at Indy.
Good, always fun to visit his room.
