Eldon 45mm Army Figures

Eldon made several 45mm figures to go with a large tank and landing craft. The figures were too small for the tank, they were just right for the landing craft.  The vehicles that came with the landing craft ( a tank and a jeep) were out scale with the figures and landing craft. There are six poses standing firing, advancing, grenade thrower, kneeling firing, advancing with submachine gun and yelling or shouting.  This last pose was used to steer the landing craft.  With the exception of the yelling pose the other figures are wearing a pack. The figure I can find the most of the group is the standing firing rifle figure.  The others come up occassionally with  the  exception of figure with the submachine gun  which I have never seen and I am still looking for. Interestingly I passed on a complete landing craft in England two years ago because I did not like the price.

I have never seen a kneeling firing guy. I have two of the guy firing the grease gun, but alas one has a chewed barrel and worse then that it was I who did it. I have 5 that somehow survived my childhood, but only in three poses two running, two with grease gun and the driver. Interestingly enough, the guy firing the grease gun is doing so left handed, a rarity in itself.

      Hi Ed
Yes I agree with you these figures can be hard to find, yet I keep getting the standing firing pose. Interest that the firing the grease gun is left handed. You are right very few plastic figures are left hand, another reason for me to look for him as I am left handed.

I think the grease gun guy will be the hardest to find in good shape, the barrel of the grease gun is really thin and real flimsy, just like the bayonet of the running guy. They really are excellent poses with great detail for a 45mm figure, too bad nothing really went with them except the first release of the Revell Monogram GI’s. I wish I could find an unopened box of them.

I was able to pick up another firing grease gun guy, want to trade for the standing firing rifle guy?
