Maryland Toy Show June 2023 Health Update

Maryland Toy Show June 2023 Health Update, the Maryland Toy Show had changed hands from Dave Hart. I had heard the show had and I wanted to see the difference. I also have information on a reissue of the Marx six-inch Germans. Finally, I give you an update of my health.

Maryland Toy Show June 2023 What a Change

Un Car
I had heard that the people who had bought the Dave Hart Maryland Toy Show had completely changed the format of the show. Still, I decided to go down and see for myself. Also, it was before my prostrate procedure and I thought to enjoy myself.

The drive down to the show is all highway and I arrived about a half hour after it opened. The parking lot was packed and two buildings were being used for the show. I went to the lower building and walked in. The word was right the show was nothing but action figures and character items. There were a couple of dealers where I found a few items. One dealer had Marx Dollhouse people. Another dealer had some Aurora HO pieces and a few Dimensions of Children Dungeon figures.

One dealer had reissues of the Marx German in six-inch. (More on these later). I also got the Britains UN Land Rover and a Phantom figure with one leg up. These last two items got in the upper building. I only did part of the building as I was tired. On the way home I found a nice restaurant called the Stonebrooke Grille. there I had cream of crab soup and a fried oyster sandwich. I had not had oysters in years. I will not go back to the show.

Marx Six-Inch German Figure Reissue

One item I came across was the Marx Six-inch WWII Germans reissues. You can tell them two ways. First, the reissues are in a light gray while the originals were only done in a dark gray.

Second, the reissue does not have the Marx slug that the original has.

Maryland Toy Show June 2023, Health Update.

On Monday, June 12th, I went to the hospital for a Turp that is for the prostrate. I was there at 6:15 AM and two hours later I had the operation. Everything went fine, but because I live alone they kept me in overnight for observation. Everything was fine, I got to see two movies. My only complaint was the food. I got a whole apple with my dinner meal. I was released the next day and hope it works.

RE:Turp: Jeez I hope the nurses were Babes!

    • admin says:

Brian they are not babes. They were young women who were very professional. I think they were happy to have a patient that was not a problem.

  2. ERWIN SELL says:

Nine finds ,the land lover is great !!

  3. TD Barnecut says:

The stabbing down pose is scarce , pulled from production and replaced with a different pose. I would suppose the mold was scrapped but you never know? Would the reissues
    include that original pose?

  4. Craig W. Scribner says:

Glad to hear that your procedure went well, Paul, and that you behaved yourself!

  5. Wayne W says:

I always loved the 6-inch poses. I wished they’d done them in 1/32 scale and was glad when someone came out with a smaller scale even though they were more 1/35 scale even by “old’ standards.

I, too, am glad your procedure went well. Some time ago I realized the major reason I retired was to be able to make doctor/medical appointments. LOL

    • ERWIN SELL says:

CTS cloned some of the 6 inches german poses in their first set along their own designed figures. An Italian maker made the other poses in 1/32 as well and also some other sets from Marx 6 inches too such soviets, japanese and Americans Unfurtunately no other sets have been made from 6 inches into smaller .

      • Wayne W says:

Yes, I bought several sets of the CTS Germans with the Marx poses when they came out, too. There was also another set produced elsewhere of just the 6-inch poses – can’t remember who made them, I think it was somewhere in South America. I got those, too – those were the 1/35 scale figures I got, along with the US poses.

        • ERWIN SELL says:

Yes ,the one you got from SA are the one sold by DSG Argentina company, they are one produced in Italy actually and also distributed by Steve Weston from UK once ,here in US CTS sold them too.
CANE poses sets japanese and American are more base in 3 inches than 6 inches .Unfortunately they did not copied the Germans or other ww2 .
And a Spaniards small makers copied the Americans too but very rare .

  6. peter Evans says:

    The Italian firm was CARNE
They did the 6 inch Marines , Japanese and Knights, scaled down to 60mm
A firm in Argentina also did the Germans and Russians but they were more 1/35th – 50mm

    • ERWIN SELL says:

No Peter.I’m not refering to the Cane brand as other Italian maker

I know CANE copied japanese and American s base in Marx 3 and 6 inches poses as well indians and cowboys with knights from Marx I post all them here ..

I’m referring to the one you say are from SA because that they were distributed from DSG from Argentina originally there first in the 90s ,but come from bags carded in Italy as well .
      Here CTS sold them too.
Once in while small batches show up from Italy by some people of FB Italian groups and eBay still.
Base on Italian collectors were sold by under PRB and Barabelli but i’m not positve about it .
Head cards just say made in Italy .
These smaller unknown brand 4 sets are the one about 52/54 mm max and 4 ww2 sets made.
