German Hing Fat Figures Greg Liska

I figured out what I wanted to do with the new HF Germans. The M-43 hat wearing guys were placed in my Gebirgsjaeger unit and painted dark grey. The helmet guys went to my HK Airfix Germans set. They were painted a greenish grey. See the pictures!

That’s something you don’t see everyday, a left handed bazooka guy.( I know it’s the German version but I can’t spell it)

Notice the prone machine gunner assistant with belt fed ammo and the prone machine gunner has a top clip feed mg?!?!

      • Greg Liska says:

The prone Assistant Gunner goes with the tripod mounted MG just like in the Match Box DAK set.

        • Brian Johnson says:

Look close at the tri-pod MGs and you’ll see ammo drums not a belt feed eh.

          • Greg Liska says:

Yep, I noticed. It’s such an undetailed sculpted that closer I got, the less it looked like anything. I use the AG with the tripod mounted MG-42 because the Zb-26 never took a belt. It also wouldn’t make a lot of sense to use the 50 round ‘assault drum’ in the tripod mounted mode.

          • Greg Liska says:

Wow, that last post was barely coherent. I’m awake now, got my coffee. I looked at the MG man. He has both a drum AND a belt dangling down. Not possible! At any rate, as I stated before with extremely poor sentence structure; the MG-42 is the only one of the two that CAN use a belt, so the AG (for me, anyway) goes there.

    • Greg Liska says:

      Wow, I didn’t even notice and I’m a diehard left-hander.

  2. Ed Borris says:

I always notice the lefties because they were rare until recently. Funny thing I have seen twice now where someone has done a figure of Kirby from Combat, but they both made him a righty. Anyway, the first left figure I ever remember seeing was the Eldon grease gun guy.

    • Greg Liska says:

The first I remember is the Lido German running with rifle in left hand! Firing bolt action rifles as a lefty slows you down, for sure. Have to always completely re-acquire your target.

  3. WHY are you posting photos of MULTIPLES and piles of figures?
How is that useful to your fellow collectors?
Perhaps some CLEAR CLOSEUPS of the figures you are talking about,
would be more interesting and helpful?

    • Greg Liska says:

There ARE clear close ups of the figures. The pile of figures shows how the colors match. It was to illustrate the point made in the text.
