Thank you for the kind words. As I have said before, I learn from Stan Lee of Marvel fame amongst others to make your readers part of the adventure. That is what I have done. Laurie became part of this world nearly 30 years ago. She had a lot of fun and it was a different world. We travel and share her love of cruises and the Caribbean with me. She enjoyed meeting everyone.

  42. Pat Mungavin says:

Paul , Although I only met you briefly once ,at Fairleigh Dickenson back in the late seventies at a “show” I was talking with John Boyle and you came by with your mother and we “chatted” . I used to await your monthly list and peruse through it. Then in the 90’s the internet came to be and changed our lives and the hobby . I remember reading about when you and Laurie met ,how happy you both were. I used to look forward to reading about you and Laurie and of course your pets. I always considered you a voice of “reason” in the hobby . You were never just another “Dealer”but more of a “Truth teller”. I always turned to “Comment Time” to get the “Pulse” of the hobby. I hope this continues. Loss of a loved one is never easy but the older we get the harder it becomes . I hope you can cope with Laurie’s loss . You will always have the Memories. God Bless my friend.–Pat

Thank you for your kind words. My mother loved rides and then we stop somewhere to eat. She enjoyed the shows. When I met Laurie I found someone who could enjoy my business and hobby. She became the second pair of eyes in looking for items.
As I said my Comment Time was to share the hobby.
The internet changed our world. someways good someway bad.
I will continue my website and my comments.
      I will survive.

  43. Marc Postelmans says:

    My deepest condolences.

Wishing you a lot of strength and support in this difficult time.

  44. ROBERT CULLINAN says:

Paul, I’m genuinely very sorry to just hear of your wife’s passing. For many years I bought stuff from your paper mail order catalogue, and it was the only way to get my hands on US based stuff in Northern Ireland. I’ll always be grateful to you both for the many items you acquired and sent to me throughout the 90’s and noughties. Very sad to hear you are without Laurie now. Take care, I’ve no doubt she’s watching over you.

Thank you for your kind words. You and the others who have to respond to sad news don’t know how much I appreciate the response. I know Laurie would too. I was happy to share U.S. figures with foreign collectors as I was happy to do the opposite for American collectors. I miss the old paper lists days as it was a fun time. Sadly, those days are gone.

  45. Ricky Cowell says:

Belated condolences to your wife, Laurie. I’m sure she’s in a much better place looking down upon you and watching over you.

  46. Phil Chao says:

I am very sorry for your loss. While we haven’t been in contact in a while, I’ve always appreciated your site as well as your kindness in advising me on my collection. I hope that you take some comfort in the thought that she is in a better place.

My own mother passed away on the 21st, at the age of 100. I find it helpful to think that she’s now reunited with my father and her brothers and probably amused to see that I still collect toy soldiers after all these years! Remember the good times – it might not lessen the hurt, but it may bring a smile to your face and have you appreciate the times that you had together.

It was rough these last few years as her health went down. I tried to my her a little happy by getting her out. Take care and good to hear from you.
