Percy One of our Mascots Has Passed.

Percy has Passed
We lost today one of our little buddies Perseus (Percy he is one on the left in the coat). We got him thirteen years ago. Laurie felt Sparky the one in the middle needed a buddy. She went over to the shelter and spotted Percy. Both Percy and she fell in love. He was a great dog. When we got Quinn he became a mother to him as we got Quinn as a pup.
He was listed at 16 1/2 years old but we think he was closer to 19. Laurie and I are glad we rescued him. He will be missed

I will be not be posting for a few days. I have posts on various items new figures from Little Man and Elastowit and European toy shows.

Paul, you have my condolences over Percy’s loss. Last winter we lost our own Percy – a peacock who had been part of our family for almost thirty years. They are part of our family; all I can say is I know Percy had a great life and was loved. Try to focus on the good memories and smile – even as you wipe away a tear.

Sorry to hear of this, the bond we form with our pets is pretty special, they give unconditional love and are all unique in their own way, no two pets are the same, it’s soul crushing when you lose one. Condolences to you and Laurie, your little buddy will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge…………..

  4. Mark Weitz says:

I’m glad that in the midst of these sombre days, you have dedicated this post to your friend Percy. Every dog in a shelter has a story to tell, and it is usually not a happy one, but as your photo shows, life got better for Percy, and that sends a great message to anyone wanting a dog: go to a shelter and you will find every sort of dog you could imagine, all crying out for a good home.
Dear sweet Percy, I’m sorry I never knew you, but what matters is that you knew the love of the humans whose lives you enriched. When their sorrow subsides, those are the memories that will endure.

Laurie and I were touched by your comments Stuart as we were with everyone else’s comments. Percy had been a runaway. I found out he had been abused when I was changing. he saw me take my belt off and he started to shake and shiver. I realize immediately knew what was going on, place the belt down and hug him. He knew he was safe.

Very sorry Paul for you and Laurie’s loss. I have always been an animal person, my specialty is cats since as far as I remember. I rescued a tiny kitten years ago, turns out he had epilepsy, $8000 later he’s fine and wants nothing to do with me. Just lost my boy of 14 years and I do not handle it well at all. Totally fell apart, couldn’t talk, eat or sleep. Lost my 20 year old girl about 10 years ago and missed 2 days of work. I will not even travel as I will not leave my other three alone over night. Probably why I am 67 years old and single. Never met a women that I liked more than my cats anyway. Once its over I try to remember the great moments I had with them. An honor to have known them. They are totally innocent. I could not imagine how someone can abuse an animal. Hats off to you and Laurie for the rescue.

That is sad news. RIP good ol’ boy. I’m sure Percy found with the two of you the very best home. Plus getting to such a biblical dog age is a blessing.
So he is sitting with a big smile in dogs heaven barking thank you.
