         British at Far East (BFE)

54 BFE 02     Rifles Defense Section (Brodie Helmets)

All models are supplied unpainted.

54mm Pacific War British at Far East: Rifles Defense Section

The set contains 9 model soldiers comprising of 1 officer, 1 light machine gunner, and 7 infantrymen. The weapons, heads, and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of at least 20 different postures.

Grenade thrower

Although the section is commanded by either a sergeant or a corporal, we have decided to include an officer as a more attractive combination. Fortunately, the uniforms of all ranks in the field are very similar and thus can be swapped.

The most common weapon of the infantry is the SMLE rifle, commonly referred to as the Lee-Enfield rifle.

  Lee-Enfield rifle.
Note that the thickness of the model base is around 2 mm. The British models are slightly bigger and taller than the Japanese models.
Sten gun
The British army lost a lot of weapons at Dunkirk. In order to re-arm in a hurry, the “Sten-gun” was quickly put into production to supplement the Thompson machine gun. Its key requirement being quick and cheap to produce. In times of war, this is a high virtue. In due course, it was issued to many soldiers, not just the senior NCOs.

More Information

bren gun helmet
The Bren gun is to be the main firepower of the infantry section. We have added a beret option as an extra to add “color” to the set.

The rest of the BFE series are as follows:-

1.BFE 01 Rifles Assault Section (MkIII Turtle Helmets, netted)

2. BFE 03 Machine Gun Section (Turtle Plain Helmets)

3. BFE 04 Mortar Section (Brodie Plain Helmets)

4. BFE 05 HQ Section, include support weapons. (Berets and Bonnets)

There will be options for soldiers to be wearing bush hats and Indian turbans for the above sets.

Hope that you will find something of interest in these models. These are all new sculpted.

Next Release

french Revolution

The next set in the production queue is the 54mm Imperial Guard Infantry, Grenadiers (Old Guard).

We have also included options for the models to be converted into Peninsular War period and Austerlitz-Friedland period soldiers. Looking forward to your kind support.

Stay safe.

Cheers,
Scott

Nice addition on all EXF ,but as usual making mid to late period ww2 and the British officer cap looks a bit odd to me ,maybe the angle but the rise in front is too high and side not bended .I like see it more closely .
Napoleonic .The bicorns for grenadiers/guards to be use as early period is good idea but uniform was different ,so there is a bit error there ,the guard shako hat is too short too ,it suppose be far taller than standard shako .EXF keep making figures body build too strong in my view. I like their set ,number poses ,detail but the body max index is far too corpulent in my personal view .The only match scale blend are the Chinese Supreme sets and few others plus vintage such Starlux .Airfix, hat, italeri, waterlloo 1815,a call to arms and most other in the 1/32 fall too small next to these.
    my thoughts

I’ve committed to the Japanese sets only, but I want more comparison shot’s of these Brits before I commit again.

  3. ERWIN SELL says:

I don’t know but unless people are OK with body built of EXF .EXF are not anywhere near traditional 54 mm or 1/32 in body volume because the body thickness of these figures are robust ,corpulent next to any 54 mm and is this what made then looks actually more bigger. Also if compare the same type weapon to a 54 mm Airfix ,MARS or even a bit taller Matchbox the caliber of EXF should be super specials big then . Also as Airfix Japanese are rather smaller they do not blend well at all with them ,they go better with MARX,CTS,MPC and one of the new MARS sets as well of course much better with BMC,PH,JECSAN .
I think is correct to be honest and to alert collectors before get disappointed if trying blend with true 54 mm and I think should be good for makers to realize it .

Received mine and they are awesome!!!

  5. Wayne W says:

My only quibble (and sadly – it’s a deal breaker) is scale. I think they are beautifully sculpted – I don’t even mind the full bodied style as folks come in different sizes and shapes – though I will tell you from experience that even a few weeks in the tropic boonies can leave a lot less of your lady to love when you return. But, as I’ve said before – I’m not ready to get full into another scale quite yet. But I wish ExForce the best and might not mind getting a few sets of the Napoleonics to fill in the ranks of my other Nappies – that is if they’re not too far out of scale.
