Igor Basevich has release photos of the companion set to the Teutonic Knights. They are the Livonian Knights. Started by Albert the Bishop of Riga who wanted a standing army for Livonia. They operated independently until a disastrous defeat in 1226. They then became a separate branch of the Teutonic Knights.
Chin Toys Livonian Knights poses
The eight poses are as follows;
  1. Kneeling praying
  2. Firing bow
  3. Mace up in right-hand shield in the left hand
  4. Advancing to the right with sword out and shield
  5. Sword out in right hand while blowing a horn
  6. Ax overhead chopping down
  7. Standing with spear pointing up
  8. Standing with sword out to the right while holding a banner.

I think these figures will make great additions to anyone’s medeival army.

Fun Time

Royal National
Our very good friend Detlef Heerbrand found some old photos from the 1993 Norman Joplin Toy Soldier Show. It was held at the Royal National Hotel. We would go over in December to the show then see some of our friends all on a long weekend. As you can see the place is crowded. Here I am with the late Les White talking bout his conversions.

Here I am with Laurie buying some figures. In the background is Norman Joplin. He is in the doorway behind Laurie. As I said the show was packed. You can see in the previous photo Les had a little stand in front of the elevators. One person used to book a closet for his table. We got my amazing things. Once while ready to walk out of the show I spotted a Marx Arab standing on the tower for a pound. He came home with us along with other purchases Thanks Detelf for the fun memories.

    Nice cute photo’s …
    The knight sets looks better than Teutonic in my like ,yet would be better if represent knights fighting or using horses. I see that makers many do them on foot .As Chintoy had done mounted set will be great if does them fighting .Knight and horses are the main medieval symbols as was part of their tradition ,way fight ,roam and status power. They fought on foot only at castles or after being dismounted . The set has sergeants and levies among poses ,knights are just some of the poses .
    my thoughts
