Next Britains has a preorder of their Deetail Civil War figures in a new paint scheme. Also, Rahway sent us an update from Jeff Imel on his army women project. Plastic Figure Showcase Plastic Platoon Preview Revolutionary War

Plastic Figure Showcase Plastic Platoon Preview Cannon
Rahway spotted that Plastic Platoon has shown some of their future releases for their American Revolutionary War. Here is one of them a British Army artillery crew and cannon. This looks to be an exciting upcoming series.

Britains Deetail Civil War

Britains is asking for preorders for four sets of their Deetail Civil War infantry sets. These figures are new paint of the figures that have been out for years. They are Union U. S. C. T., Union infantry, Confederate, and Confederate in butternut. The first set does not have an officer as it represents the black troops that served in the American Civil War. Instead, the set has two standing firing the rifle. Each set of six figures is $30.00

Frankly I find that too expensive.

BMC Women Soldier Update

BMC Women soldiers
Rahway also alerted me on an update from Jeff Imel on his project Plastic Army Women. Here is the first paragraph
.The BMC Toys Plastic Army Women project has made great progress over the past month. The factory completed the second production run of the OD Green packs, and Pre-orders that include just the OD Green packs placed before March 4th, 2021 have all shipped. New Pre-Orders for the OD Green packs are shipping every week.  Pre-orders that include only Pink (or Pink & OD Green) placed before Christmas 2020 are estimated to ship within a week.  The factory is currently molding more Tan and Pink figures so it will be a couple more weeks before the remaining pre-orders of Tan & Pink start to ship. It will be about a month before the remaining Bucket set pre-orders ship.

Timmee Cargo trucks

Jeff Imel has been working on making a new mold for the Timmee cargo truck. Delayed because of the pandemic, the truck is coming fingers across out in early April. The truck will be out in several different colors besides green. You can see a photo here.

Conte Collectibles Roman Update

  1. ERWIN SELL says:

I’m expecting the new Conte ,can’t wait for them .
I skip the PP as I imagine typical pretty mini statues of art at insane price that I not longer pay .
TM truck I got plenty “vintage’ plus the COMANSI ” license produced” that is exactly same thing of course and till now very common around .Beside is a VN war era truck ,not good x any pre wars and in very large 1/30 scale as was made to match the 65 mm Gi’s .
I bet many will like then still as can be use x VN and post wars of course ..
The TM T17E1 Armored Car with new more realistic tires would be a better sale in my opinion as used in WW2,Korea ,First Indochina war, second Indochina war and others .
Speira Miniatures as always doing nice more affordable figures
    my thoughts

  2. james nixon says:

The Plastic Platoon artillery and crew look brilliant cant wait for the Conte Romans. Maybe Conte will do the Persians to go with the Spartans at last as well. It is a good job Expeditionary Force did the Spartans and Persians which go perfect with the Conte versions.

  3. Waynolin Wood says:

I still intend to get a couple of their trucks – I like them and use them anyway.

PP – gee, I might have to take out a second mortgage to buy a set or two… but I think my wife might object…

Conte – that’s exciting to me, trying to figure out which color will go better with my TSSD guys. It would be great to see his rendition of the Persians. As I’ve said, I bought some ExForce, but kind of expensive.

The Female GIs – there are some poses I’d really like to have, the others I’d prefer in modern gear as it would be more correct. But I imagine I will still “pull” the trigger on at least one set for the collection’s sake.

Some exciting news; I am expecting my next 1/32 buy will be the Mars WW2 German and US Airborne sets.

  4. Denver Forester says:

A box with all the components
    for Conte’s Romans would
    be enjoyable to assemble into
    the finished figures.

  5. The BMC green army women have been the best selling 1/32 set I have ever carried

  6. Wayne W says:

Oh yes, the Speira guys – beautifully realized as usual, though I think I would prefer the Mexican not be a lancer, but a fusilier. But the John Wayne Crockett? I’m five years old again!

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Speira does some variation upon request x very minor price .
The weapons and poses often are varied per request.

  7. Tom Black says:

Looking forward to the Timmee truck, besides WW2, the Cold War era is an interesting period.
I hope the Conte Romans get here soon and hope they match up with my Ex Force Romans.
I think PP could have delved into something more interesting than ARW. Between LOD/Barzso, AIP, Marx and Accurate it is pretty well covered and at a much lower price range.

  8. TD Barnecut says:

The price on the reissued Britains ACW does not make much sense since they are using existing tooling.
The dying Wayne – Crockett figure is well detailed but might indicate the battle is about over?

  9. Mark T. says:

Scott Walter, a member of a toy soldier group on Facebook told me he spoke to Ken Osen of Britains, and they have plans to make new Deetail poses! No word on the era. https://www.facebook.com/mark.taverna.1/posts/1822012481298431:33

I do think $5 per figure for the Deetail ACW is too much. I would consider paying that for brand new poses, though, but I would rather see them selling for a bit less.

I’m looking forward to the Timmee trucks. I’m not that upset about anachronisms as far as things like trucks go, so I plan to get some grey ones for my WW2 German column, and some OD for my Americans. I’ll definitely pick up the Conte Romans as long as they are not priced astronomically high. I like the many poses of the Army Women set but I don’t really have any use for them.

  10. ERWIN SELL says:

I bet many will use the Deuce truck .
The Britain deetail recast at that price do not make any sence ,you can get vintage in very good condition or even recast made in 80s -90s for a 1.00 or 1.50 max off eBay ,shows else .
I had not use x those girls with weapons ,neither I like them .A nurse/medical team or even singer set in army uniform would be more logic/use to me .To me are just fantasy .
Same goes x silly set made by PP .
Only real woman fought in mass before 90s were the Soviets and Vietnamese .
They can do some G.I. Jane if like now .
