Odds Ends Britains Floral Garden Flea Market Rambling

Odds Ends Britains Floral Garden
I finally got to my Wednesday flea market. I got there late in the day due to other obligations. I did not figure on getting anything as the market has heavy competition. Walking around I spotted a dealer who had a load of Plasticville buildings. As I looked around his stock, I spotted the greenhouse. I knew it was not Plasticville, but Britans. It is part of the Britains Floral Garden series. The series ranges from flowers to garden equipment to small buildings. This perhaps the largest piece. It is four inches by six inches. Its height is 3 1/4 inches. The greenhouse has three rows of flowers. The only negative is it is glued together. We will see if it sells.

ATS Revolutionary War Figures

Rev WarATS
In a previous post, we had Carl ask about an American Civil War figure he had. It was identified from ATS. Another set ATS did was the American Revolution War. The set has eight figures seven-foot figures and one mounted figure. Also, the set has a cannon and two horses.
The poses are as follows:
1. Standing firing rifle legs apart tricorne hat
2.At the ready light infantry cap
3. Standing firing light infantry together.
4.Colonial officer firing a pistol in his right-hand holding in the left hand.
5. Charging with a bayonet rifle tricorn hat
6. Stabbing down with a bayonet rifle. tricorn hat
7. Standing firing rifle legs together tricorn hat.
Mounted figure
The mounted pose is a colonial firing rifle wearing a dragoon helmet. The cannon is one of the cannons that was sold with a pencil sharpener. The horses are Reamsa reissues. The figures were also done in gray, which can be seen on Kent Sprecher’s web site.
ATS Toy Soldiers only has four of the poses still available.

    As an update please..
The cannon was the Reamsa all plastic cannon from Agustina Aragon set recast that ATS included with this set and ATS still have the officer pose available in limited numbers .
They were run in grey, blue ,light blue ,white and red .
The officer with pistol, the mounted dragoon ,one standing firing light infantry ( with leather peaked helmet) and militia men running with musket were never mass produced as the other 4 poses still for sale with few limited officer test mold poses newly introduced ..
Apparently ATS has run- recasting former officer with a non industrial mold machinery the officer pose and introduced in limited sets this pose recently.Notice the mold imperfection of figure listed for sale verus original made for set never mass produced along other poses.

I like the greenhouse. I had visions of the paratrooper landing in the French greenhouse on D-Day in “The Longest Day.”

I bought two sets of the pictured ATS AWI figures in dark blue. They were in a somewhat fragile resin. I seem to remember a second mounted figure but it’s been years since I had them out.

I hoped to get out all my AWI figures for a sort of “Grand Battle ” when I got the Yorktown set. The only place I have to set it up is our dining room table and these past two years there has been no lull where I have had the time.

    Hopefully when I’m better…

I always wished “Plasticville” bldgs had been made just a little bit bigger.
