Going through the internet I found an item that was sold by Plastimarx of Mexico, a series of four different Toreros. The figures are 10 centimeters (3 15/16 inches). The figures were on Soldados de Plasticos a great web site showing figures from around the world. The webmaster Juncar got these photos from Hector, a collector in Mexico. It was speculated that Marx made them. I emailed Juncar and said that as far as I knew the figures were never sold in the United States. I also felt the figures had not been sculpted in the United States either. Juncar wrote back that he had seen in Spain 60mm versions of these figures unpainted. so they may have been exported from Spain to Mexico. Another mystery to solve.
