Two Odds Ends Mouldie Oldies Ninjas
I love how a company I introduce to the hobby keeps shows up. A case in point is the above ninjas. The figures were made by a small company from the UK called Moldie Oldies. We found these figures on a trip to a toy show in Derby UK. We had gone over to the UK for the Plastic Warrior Show. The Plastic Warrior Show is on Saturday, so we try to do a toy show on a Sunday if possible. We might find other non-figure items besides figures. On one trip we went up to Derby (Not Cheshunt in a previous post.) with our late friend John Reichl. After a wild taxi ride, we got to the show where I found Mouldie Oldies. As I related back in 2014, he had two types of figures: ninjas and spacewomen.
Using Detlef’s photo, we can see that there are three at least different poses. They are as follow:
.1. Looking forward right hand up and reaching for a sword.
2. Ninja is looking left with his right hand up.
3. Standing forward right arm up
Figures two and three can have different weapons.
I do not know what happened to Mouldie Oldies.

Starlux German Mortar Team

Starlux german
Our very good friend Markus Lecksheid sent a photo of the laying firing WWII German mortar team. Markus had mentioned it in my posting of the Plastic Platoon German mortar team. He stated that it was a 5cm leGrw 36 mortar team. I like how the figures are laying instead of kneeling. Starlux WWII Germans have many interesting poses. I will have to see if I have anymore in the collection.

It’s a nice idea. We don’t see mortars (the artillery of the infantry) represented enough. The Dulcop mortar man has a good representation of the 5cm. I do like the way these guys are posed, though. It was more often fired like that.

Have just got a plastic tank it is the same colour of the Sell Toy German tank it is a ww2 German pnz 1 or 2 might also be a Czech tank with plastic wheels underneath to move it along and has a tank commander on top with his right arm up. He is a different colour plastic to the tank it is 1/35 0r 1/32 scale if anyone knows what it is or who made it. I am unable to send photos at the moment thanks James.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Hard know unless see images of it..
Please send any photos you may do to admin.
Base in info you describe if is soft plastic and has a top torso only crew in tower hatch could be a copy no cloned made in China with out printed (made in China) words below of BB sold in 90s and is a mix hybrid of Panzer 2 with french panhrad scout car turret.
But as I say a guess only as not clue without seen it.

      Thank you.

  3. james nixon says:

It is made of soft plastic like the processed plastic vehicles it has a small cannon could be a 37mm with a machine gun next to it the turret. Has a bit that sticks out at the back of the turret. On the back left hand side of the tank there is a small hole could be for a aerial there is also a small hole in turret in front of the commander could be for another machine gun it is five inches long and two and half inches wide.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Again sounds as the one i say and i got plenty as i manage got houd houndred and resold many in 90s early 2000.
But we may be talking of different too .
Mine were in the same RAD color as SELLTOY tank killer ,others were another green.
The two holes you referring if is the same tank are .One in turret x a machine gun ,one in back ,it is for and exhaust system small piece that often come loose .
One lower side near wheres tracks are there should be another bigger hole that was for the original mold from BB tank made as wing toy .
The recast copy of 90s has wheels in bottom and sold with a German sidecar ,a AA gun and 21 cm Nebelwerfer 42 very well done ,tower, trenches and toy soldiers copies of others. The side car ,AA 20 MM gun and 21 cm Nebelwerfer 42 are original and very well done .
Same makers did a Matilada tank nice copy of same scale .
I can do photo of all .

Would like to see pictures of the AA 20mm gun, nebelwerfer and the rest. who made them, and can they still be found?

        • ERWIN SELL says:

          I will do photos tonight…
They never show out in market since 90s .I bought near 1000 blister pack and resold at many shows and ebay.
Paul Stadinger bough one full set from me.Stangler bough several dozen x business also.
Few years back one ebay dealer sold few loose out his lists.

        • Greg Liska says:

If this is the same stuff Erwin is describing, the AA gun is a 40mm Bofors.

          • ERWIN SELL says:

No Greg .no a Bofors .
Actually not a 20 mm flak as I mention before but a flak 3.7 cm 18/36/37 of wich many variants were made ..
BMC also is not a flak 30- 20 mm cal but a 3.7cm model 36/2.
The one I have is a different version.
Both flack were made by Rheinmetall and differ a lot in system and mechanism plus rifle from BOFORS system and models.
The bofors gun toys had been done by several Chinese makers in more likely post ww2 variation .One by New Rey,other by sunjade, other by generic distributor mounted in soft plastic carriage but too big x 1/32.
And more detail ain 1/32 by FISHEL .
Also there two vintage model made of simple Bofors.

I have all those also and will do some photos as well .
I just pull all others flak AA guns tonight.
Doing photo soon w post x admin.

  4. ERWIN SELL says:

The Starlux mortar team is great but unfortunately the figures and mortar are become separated and very fragile within time .the crew poses are base in training photo and depiction ,Dulcop pose is more practical and great as toy soldiers in my like .Starlux is more historical accurate and well done but much harder to find intact and as vintage a well .Yet is a very nice set and once again as Markus said only other making it in the plastic 1/30s scale range toy figures non kit models
Now we got EXF coming with it soon .Nice set

    • Greg Liska says:

The pose for the mortar team would depend on its proximity to direct fire and their available cover and concealment.

  5. james nixon says:

Hello Erwin that is the one it has a hole in one side of the tank. If you could do a photo of all them that would be great to see. It is a lovely tank for Chinese made thank you for your help James.

  6. james nixon says:

The tank sounds just like the one Erwin talks about I am unable to send picture as camera is out of action at the moment.

  7. Greg Liska says:

Erwin – You know I know that the BMC gun is the 37mm. The mystery stuff that James has, I’m willing to bet, is the SunJade Bofors. You both seem to be talking about the same tank. I gotten a load of them with motorcycle combis, the AA gun, and only one of the Nebelwerfer. I have no idea if they were sold normally together, but a dealer had them lumped together. The Neblwerfer was green, The Bofors and Combi were in dark blue plastic. The tank is a dark, slightly grey, green with a ridiculous muzzle for the gun that gratefully comes off easily, and a half figure in the turret that was in the same blue as the other items. I took the Bofors and painted them olive, made a hatch on the tanks with a washer and thumb tack after removing the half-figure. I painted the Combis grey, painting the crew in a different grey. Lastly, I took 4 carriages for the Bofors, removed the recuperator pistons and a few other small changes, and placed 4 BMC 37mm guns on them. I wish I were home to send pics and get this all solved. I’m going to see if I can get my son to take some and send it to me.

  8. ERWIN SELL says:

here is the one u may be calling BOFORS,that if is the same i got near thousand and sold along other items as same packing back in 90 is 100% a German Flak 37 as well in actual real German carriage mount.Base in colors you describe match mine as well and definitely not Bofors at all as almost identical to BMC(flak 18) as well but with variation as been a 36/2 model and mounted in real German carriage trailer
see images here .But if yours is different i will be love see it of course. I’m making full set photo and post x admin so every one can see it
    best regards

  9. BRIAN says:

The BMC Gun looks good in the Airfix German Hanomag or the Marx Half Track.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Yes ,the BMC Looks good in the Airfix 251 halftrack made under Hanomag not doubt ,CTS recast it and easy to use or convert,in fact the Sd.Kfz. 251/5 was one hanomag that has exactly the non BMC Flak 36/2 mounted on it .So if want be more accurate instead use the BMC if have other it fit perfect on it as well .
On Marx odd German truck ,not half track as has not tracks ,unless the US one looks too big i think .That was the problem with Marx vehicles from 60s to made then fit in playset and give you more they went way too under scale .The Marx motorcycle they screw more as they could had made it in scale ,in return they made a adult driver riding a kid tricycle sidecar toy .So funny looking .But i bet for kids back then was amazing !!

I don’t do FaceBook so I can’t see anything. The sign-in banner blocks me. I sent Paul pictures of the tank that we must all be talking about. Had the GF take the pics. I’d like to see pics of this 20mm gun, or have we determined there is no 20mm gun? As she dug around while we were Facetiming, it IS the New Ray BOFORS I had. I do have the copy Flak gun as well. Memories get muddled when you’re away from your toys too long.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

      That what I though.
Greg.been far and when time pass I mix stuff a lot too . I have two more other Bofors.have u have those?i can send u picks
There is an array other vehicles I manage get in 90s as well.
I will send u my pics to u directly.
I saw u panzer Hybrid Chinese made used in one of your photos I guess.

  12. Greg Liska says:

The New Ray one was hard plastic, had some screws in it and had a camo paint job, if I now properly recall. THAT is the gun I painted straight olive. The GF showed me pics of the blue Flak’s. They remain blue.
Anyhow, I sent Paul pics of the modified tank. I consider the home made hatch an improvement.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

I got u picks from u tank.looka cool.as usual u improve and implement from where no one will snd easy way too.

He may post then soon I bet..
I had reverse the barrels and change then in many of mine.the turret is that of a french panhard 178 model b and the turret is well done w right cannon and correct machine gun coaxial w exception silly funnel tip in original cannon that as u I remove all.
But I manage cast a turret of panzer 2 in resin x then and made several out silicone mold .they come out pretty decent. Will make photos soon.
Greg give me couple days to pull all my Chinese cannon I got off my collection as I’m working this weekend longer hours.stay safe and saner.

  13. james nixon says:

Hello Erwin that is the tank I was talking about. Now I have seen your pictures I think I have the panzer 3 as well bought it in a charity shop for 50 pence. I wonder if the Nebelwerfer is a copy of the one in the barzso/tssd road to Stalingrad playset looks very similar thanks for photos James

    • ERWIN SELL says:

      James I’m glad help.
The 15 cm Nebelwerfer 41 can not be copy of TTSD-Barzso as these come many years ago- before TSDD set .
So if is a copy is from other no from TSSD.

The other tanks were sold in single pack after .the panzer III was sold with electronic wire control version at dollar stores too.

      I’m glad help.

  14. james nixon says:

Hello Erwin just wondering if the German sidecar in your photos is a copy of the Atlantic one.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

I had made a full research in and made plenty compare views observation plus photos along models with Tamiya kit,Atlantic,Larami,,britain and Hasbro Titanium Series indiana jones sidecar motorcycle and is far different to those in every angle and else.
It has a mild resemblance to Larami.
If look at all photos i post i had put then next to above mentioned brand minus Atlantic as Atlantic is far different plus many parts are not realistic historical .
Same goes for Flak.not BMC copy at all as differ and is model 36/2-37 cm while BMC is model 18 37cm plus BMC come after .See photos compare and historical models samples in link post .
So again in this case Chinese made a nice toys .I have the idea that they used Kits to copy or made the toys as reference as detail is simple but historical accurate in the AA gun, motorcycle and Nebelwerfer 41 .
Tank is hybrid as point out ,but again not a copy ,no one had done in toy-not kit a panzer II in that scale ,neither panzer III or Matilda.Matilda FB is far different and again come after .

So no copy of any know toy as far we know unless some can provide exact match of other brand making alike .

  15. Greg Liska says:

Erwin – Please do send me pics of other BOFORS AA Guns. I doubt they will still be available, but I’d like to see what I missed. The New Ray ones are pretty decent, I can’t complain for the toys that they are and the price I paid. In fact, I think I traded for them. A friend bought a bunch of sets that had them in it. He didn’t want them and we traded. I vaguely remember it had a few vehicles and 4 modern US soldiers or something like that. All items were painted.

  16. BRIAN says:

    I really like that “Matilda”

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Yeah looks cool.i got just few as never got hand from warehouse just few left at stores.it is a bit small but good x numbers in background w FV at front .
Funny part is Matilda tank have stickers saying speeed and fast tank.
A far cry x this tank in real life.lol
