Four Different Marital Art Figures
Here is Erwin’s article. As I mentioned before there are the four martial figures to the more likely representation of modern Ninjutsu school of training used since 1970. The figures came out right around the foundation of these modern schools in Japan. The figures were sold as a surprise or machine vending machine. The vending machine items are known as Gashapon.

Socrates
Peter Evans clued us on one of our trips to the UK about some figures at the British Museum. As we love the museum and have been there several times it was a bonus. The set contained Confucius and other figures. the figure here is Socrates or Plato. He would work well with your Atlantic Greek life figures.
A funny story the first time I took Laurie to the British Museum I took her to the Elgin Marbles. She enjoyed seeing them as we were leaving she asked. “Aren’t we going to see the Elgin Marbles I said we did. she thought we were going to see marbles like in a game. we were back several times since. Her favorite room is the Egyptian.
soldiers
Here we have two military figures. The one on the left is Starlux.figure. It is one of the smaller scale figures. The figure is on right is by Reisler. Looking at the catalog, I found the figure was done in Khaki and red/black. It was first done in 1953 and was made until 1960.

Looks like Socrates/Plato is missing his left hand and his eyebrows are painted on his forehead. The Starlux Soldier looks good. Did Starlux do any of their figures in soft plastic?
