Toy Hunter Partrige Family

First catching up with the episode we missed last week, Jordan Hembrough meets Danny Bonaduce, who was on the Partridge Family at the Emerald City Comic Con.  Danny tells Jordan that he would like to get the Partridge Family Game  as he was a game piece.  Jordan promised to have the game in time for an appearance on the show two days later. Jordan decides he will get other Partridge Family items to impress Danny. Jordan goes with Steve Savino to Jason in search of their quest.  Jordan finds some Batman Tortilla chips  which he pays $8.00. Checking EBay I found someone was selling a sealed bag for $5.00. Jordan then purchases  a Pac Man video game for $40.00, which he plans to sell for $70.00. checking EBay the game sells around $40.00 to $50.00. Jason also has a Remco Ricochet Racers of Spiderman and Captain America which Jordan buys for $100.00 and plans to sells for $120.00. I could not find any examples on EBay of this item.

Disappointed that Jason has no Partridge Family items, Jordan and Steve go to Matthew, where they strike gold, Partridge family gold as Matthew has what they are looking for. The first item Jordan buys is a Partridge Laurie Doll in the box.  Jordan pays $100.00 and plans to sell in for$150.00 There is one on EBay at $199.72  a buy it now. Next Jordan finds a Partridge  Family Bus in the box.  Jordan pays $750.00 and plans to sell it for a $1000.00 no examples could be found.  Next Jordan finds the item that Danny Bonaduce wants the Partridge Family Game. Better yet it is mint still sealed.  Jordan pays $15.00 and plans to sell it for $20.00.  Checking EBay, I found the there  a number  of the game on EBay selling between 10 and $20.00 Some people were trying to get 30 to $47.00.

Jordan and Steve final stop is with Josh who has a collectible shop called Time Bomb. Jordan  first buys a Fonzie Pillow for $35.00. I could not find any examples on EBay.  Jordan finds the Partridge Family Lunch Box and thermos in the basement of Time Bomb, which he pays $150.00 and will sell for $225.00.  There are several on EBay none over $100.00. Jordan also finds a unicycle  similar to one that Danny had.

The final part of the show finds Jordan on Danny’s radio show.  Jordan offers several of the Partridge Family items and is turn down on all but two items. Crestfallen that Danny did not buy more, Jordan feels it is a worthwhile effort as he has made a new client with Danny and by being on the show he will get more customers.

This show you see the danger when you are buying for a particular client especially on speculation that the person is going buy what you find.  In a situation like this you have to go in with the attitude that the person is not going to buy anything. One thing that will help in mitigating lost is knowing  if your client is interested in those items and his or her price range.  When Danny Bonaduce does not buy anything except two items, Jordan is upset and annoyed. Jordan tries to justify his endeavor by saying he has a new client and will possible get customers  from his appearance.

The show itself was pretty bland as usual. There have been more attempt to give background like American Pickers and Pawn Stars. Once again chances are missed  to better interact with the people they meet. Also Steve is not shown finding any of the items it is all Jordan. the other item that Danny Bonaduce bought was interesting as it came in a shopping bag, which is usually thrown away. I listen to radio show and found that piece interesting, which is a shame the did not highlight it.  Also the markups that Jordan was doing were too low.  Unless you are doing volume, you must have higher markups.
