Some great news. I think Bill would be pleased the banner is being carried on and lifted even higher. I think the female GIs will be well received – not enough females in plastic IMHO – it would be even better if he could manage to get some in more modern outfit and gear, but anything will be welcome, I think.

Several years ago some exact same copies show up from local sellers off Ebay who claim were imported from China.
As far some one claim got then are plastic because smell and float in water.
I have feeling these are same Supreme sets old stock not painted version that got sold or distributed before Supremme Sungade industries sold then pack painted.
While most supreme sets are 60/65 mm .
The napoleonic sets were made in smaller 54/56 mm range matching these as I have then in large amount and next to ITALERI are same size.
I would have to get one set to find comparing scale and poses next each other.
I like all Warhansa figures but price plus non amount poses are not of my intrest now.
they are more in to wargames hobby supply preferences I my opinion and their sets weapons in many are overexagerated.
I think the pirates publius are old stock and Andrey plus other seller show then off Ebay few weeks ago.
    my thoughts
    best
I rather kept the painted supreme poses.

      No, Erwin, it’s new stock.
Pirates, Saxons and Sevastopol russian Sailors reissued in limited quantity.

      • ERWIN F SELL says:

So Publius reissue the old sets again?
        Thanks x update.
Interesting how limited are not that limited after l as they can be recast at any time.
I guess the high price is joke after all!
        best .

        • denitz says:

I don’t think what additional release of 40 sets can drop market price.

          • admin says:

We will have to see if it affects the market or not

          • ERWIN F SELL says:

            No.
My point is that companies or actually minor small makers such Publius,URFIN,Warhansa that claim their sets are limited run production and the cost /production-manufacturer make the figures so insane overpriced as excuse can actually redone or recast few month or year later again same set and then claim (“limited done”) again to keep the price up is a fairy tale game in the hobby market
I think these maker are inflating the market in doing so in purpose and I’m against such game .
How many more times they could do same then wait and do again !?
So the word” limited” done is a decorative adjective .
I’m glad Biplant had cloned some figures and wish they do it more often so everybody can afford the figures even at 80% less detail as original .Recently i bought 20 mongol and sarance archer/bowmen poses copied by Biplant for the price of less than one set Publius with shipping included. The detail on these copies is astonishing great .
Interesting also many Publius sets in particular are not original at all as cloned from metal done figures poses also .
In my opinion these few maker with so high price are way overpriced for a hobby of such small amount and it had become an inflation game market .
            my thoughts

Here is not plain calcualtion as with injection molded sets, where main spending – cost of mould.

          Here definitely another calculation :

Figure making cost around $2.5 It included work, mould, raw materials. “Mould live” from 1 to 20 figures, depends on luck and caster skill. So for any quantity price per figure will approx. the same.

Master-model cost around $250. If issued only 250 sets i’ts mean adding just $1 to figure cost. It’s only part which can allow make minor economy. For 1000 sets we shall add just $0.40 to each figure cost.

So we will count 250 sets run. It means :

          $2.50 for making figure
$1.00 for cover master model cost
          $2.00 maker interest
          $2.00 seller interest
          $1.50 eBay and PayPal fees
          —————————-
          $9.00 for figure total

          Voila !

In this way no one additional release can’t help make price strongly low.

          • ERWIN F SELL says:

So 40 sets more will give u a big profit and to the maker too.?
            voila !
That calculation is way too simple made .both counting Ebay ,PayPal shipping, else.
And makers such EB and no name brand can still do same production limited with much less cost and lower sale price per figure/set.
            that is all contradictory.
            best

          • Jon Burk says:

So pricey for plastic, but not so pricey for special run figures. I broke down and got the last set on ebay. They are such great looking pirates! I wish there were more sailor poses yo go with them like Replicants. I would like to see the Barszo pirates rerun like some of their other reissues, but as plastic rather than resin.

  3. TD Barnecut says:

Any figure can be re-molded and recast if there is enough demand to warrant the effort, right?

  4. Charles Baldwin says:

I bought several sets of the Toy Soldier Company ebay offered French bicorn hat Napoleonics. I already had the original Italeri and Supreme figures as well, and they are the same size. I was really excited to see these figures and I highly recommend them. I’ll probably buy more and I’d like to get the British and use them as Hannover soldiers at Waterloo.
Actually, I like these figures better than the Italeri and Supreme because they don’t need painted and only needed slight straightening. The plastic is of decent quality and a great color too. I wish that there was a standing shooting pose and loading pose, but other than that, they are great, right down to the correct emblem on the cartridge boxes for the voltigeur and grenadier poses.

  5. Charles Baldwin says:

They are sold without horses, but you also get sixteen cavalry troopers in the set. The French bicorn cavalry make good leaders, but I use them as early Napoleonic War French dragoons and carbineers. I have a plethora of the Supreme horses, which I found to be surprisingly good for the price.

    • ERWIN F SELL says:

      Thank Charles.
I agree supreme horses all ages are great horses.
I did give the mounted bicorn French same use.
      best

  6. Wayne W says:

They might be nice, one-colored figures; but the originals can still be found at a decent price and I paint a lot of my figures so the paint job can be touched over, and “Caveat Emptor” makes me reluctant to pull the trigger on these guys – as tempting as they might be.

    • ERWIN F SELL says:

I bough 12 set each of painted x a bargain price on a closing hobby store few years back.
Partially factory paint is not that bad and if are exact same I think I don’t need more.I do too collect napoleonic painted.
So if these are same I will pass but I bet are a good choice x those like unpainted as well.
As I say before it may be unpainted supreme warehouse stock left over as they were the last set made by or sold by Supreme/Sunjade !?
      or werever name was.
      best.
