Eurofigurines Toy Soldier Show October 2018

Eurofigurines Toy Soldier Show  October 2018 is twice a year.  Two of our friends Peter Bergner and Markus Lecksheid went to the October show.  They took at high speed train from Dortmund Germany to North Paris Station.  The trip took four and half hours. They arrived on Saturday to get ready for the show on Sunday.

One of the things they did on Saturday is visit Lulubelu. This toy shop has toy soldiers and character items.  Peter was able to find an astronuat for his collection.

We start of with the photos from Markus Lecksheid.  Here is a closeup  one of the tables.

A stand of comic figures, I see Asterix and Smurfs.

A look at the show itself.  Peter told me there were 50 plus dealers who were loaded with stuff.  You had to look under and behind the tables.

Another angle of the  show. The show opened at 7:30PM and 8:30 PM for the public.  This is early for Germany and the U.S. but normal for France.

End of a row, I wonder how the Western building looked like on the front.

Various boxed Starlux sets, the large one is a farm set.

More boxed sets from Starlux  also on the lower shelf I see Britains Deetail, Plasty. On the right looks like Timpo.

My favorite part of a show scanning through boxes for treasures. Lot of Starlux in these boxes.

More figures this time from other French companies that Starlux.

Peter share with me photos of items that he got for his collection and resale.  ?Here we have copies of the Marx and Britains Herald romans. Peterwas palnning on keeping the mounted figures.

A mass of figure he got. In the pile I see Comansi and Cofalu so many interesting figures.

A closeup of the Comansi and the mounted cowboy could be Jescan or Reamsa

There are some Elastolin copies in the upper part of the photo.

Bonux spacemen are in this mix. The light green Indian chief is interesting figure.  Bonux is from France and did giveaway figures.

Crescent western figures are in the center.

That Lulubelu Toy Shop looks like an interesting place to visit.

And all those boxes of colorful loose figures to search through are amazing. It appears there is an absolute difference in selection between the European shows and the American shows we have here.

But looking at all that selection reminds me once again that the internet, as great as it is for finding toy soldier figures, just can’t compare in excitement to these toy soldier shows where dealers display their wares. And all the dealers who set up at these shows are collectors themselves, so everything is has that big, fun social element to it, where you are meeting & talking to people who all have the same interests. It’s very easy to get caught up in the excitement and overspend.

And Paris sounds like a truly great venue for a toy soldier show. Thank you — Peter & Markus — for the nice report and photos.

If I had ever had the good fortune to visit Paris, I would have liked nothing better than to have a photo of myself, like Peter, standing there with the Eiffel Tower there in the distant background.
