Laugh Time

The saddest man in UK is upset with me again. This time it is because I posted a link to an article in a vile newspaper the Daily Mail.  It upset him so much that he wrote a 2000 plus word diatribe.  Talk about having time on your hands.

The article is the latest in a series of article that have popped up  over the years over war toys.  Destroyed building is not the sickest toy that has been done. As you the readers have pointed out there have been other destroyed buildings done.

The purpose of posting such a link are make you aware and get your feedback.

As I mention to Don Perkins in a reply to the post, I read various newspapers every day. These papers are both conservative and liberal. I picked this up from my father who would read three different newspapers every Sunday. Later when I went out on trips when I was older I would bring papers from my travels for him to read.  The Daily Mail comes up with some interesting little articles on historical items.  The rest I just glance at the headlines.

In my readings I will find an occasional article that I will still share with you. One of the most popular was about the large toy soldier collection that went to auction.

Brexit I find hilarious and sad. I really do not care what happens.

Oh well I have said my piece. It will not change his opinion or mine. so in the future when I  find  an interesting article  I will share them with you. The Daily Mail article generated over 29 comments.  That was more comments that you see on sad man’s site in 50, 100 or more of his posts combined.

Well I guess sad man will respond with another long diatrible ho hum

Interesting that you brought your Dad and newspapers. My father started out in the newspaper business and retained his interest right up to the day he died. Whenever Jeni or I woukd go out of town on business, we’d bring him papers too. Occasionally, I would catch him reading newspaper that was used for packing up a box of things I ordered through the mail.

Increasingly we see the hard Left in general wishing to control what people can listen to or read. Censorship used to be associated with the Right (the exception to this being communist regimes) but no longer. Even cartoonists are targeted as we saw here with Mark Knight recently.

British politician Michael Farage visited Australia recently and people wishing to hear him were accosted in the street and there was an attempt to shut him down. He was billed by the Australian police for his security. Leftists at universities in America have tried to shut down speeches by Ben Shapiro and others. The same thing is starting to happen here. Yet the reverse doesn’t happen; conservatives don’t try to shut down Leftist speakers.

The individual you refer to has an interesting site but I had enough of his vitriol and political propaganda which castigates both you for petty reasons and Donald Trump for political ones. He is entitled to his views but his Left wing and petty personal obsessions often dominate his site so I no longer have a link to it on my blog, Quantrill’s Toy Soldiers.

I am keeping politics from this site and let you the readers have spot to relax in this crazy world.

    • I completely disagree with what you wrote. The attack on the press by the far right is disgusting. The 1st amendment offers the freedom of the press which the right is trying to suppress. Like Stad my family subscribed to three daily newspapers and I subscribe to my only local newspaper. i don’t always agree with what I read but I agree with their right to publish their opinion.

Well done. The Daily Mail is a poor excuse for a newspaper and its hacks poor excuse for journalists . It was the proximity of the reminder of the Afghan war that annoyed their faux patriotic little hearts . Well Done again.

Most newspapers have gone down in quality either conservative or public. My local paper I only get twice a week and that is for the circular ads for Laurie.
As I said before Daily Mail is one many papers I will look at.
