Ed Borris share with us his first conversion of a LOD Revolutionary War Figure. Here is what he has to say.

I thought I’d send you a picture of a LOD Brit Light Infantry guy I converted. It looks like a head swap, but in addition I also shaved off the backpack. I suppose the purists would cringe, but I think he’s passable. He’s squaring off against a 5 piece Texan conversion.  The Texan  has a Marx pioneers legs, Marx Centennial Civil War upper body, Ideal right hand Accurate left hand and a Cunnyngham head. The Lod guys are tough to cut, I had to hot water treat him before I could carve off the backpack.  He was such a dynamic pose I couldn’t resist making a Mexican out of one of them. I found it interesting that the LOD Brit light Infantry guys had a variety in coats, the two firing guys had short coats instead of tails, Some of the others have all that fancy braiding on the lapels while the one I converted didn’t have any of that.  ( the fancy braiding I’m referring to is best seen on the officer swinging the sword pose, I suppose it has a name, but I don’t know it)

Andreas got this interesting playset. It is called Lunar Base. The figures are Marx Astronauts. Odds Ends Part Three Borris Conversion, Dittmann's Question Heerbrand's Photos

The playset looked famaliar. I realized that I had seen it with the photos that Detlef had done of the the toy show in Italy.  Here it is. You can see set a little better. I feel the Marx figures are pantagraphed from the six inch Marx Astronauts. what are your thoughts?

Great job on the conversions, Ed – I caught the legs from the Marx kneeling shooter but you had me guessing on the other parts. That’s the art.
