Plastic Figure Showcase August 2016

Plastic Figure Showcase August 2016 this month we will be looking  some interesting figures.  We have figure from Larry Tomikel. Larry is trying to find who made it or what is it.  Then we will have  some interesting  figures that I have from found over the years.  Finally our friend Alain Thomas is sharing some interesting Marx figures.

Plastic Figure Showcase August 2016 Unknown Figure

Plastic Figure Showcase August 2016 Our first photo is from Larry Tomikel. Here is what he has to say about the  figure. He is about 60mm tall. He has a ring on his head and a pencil sized hole on his bottom. There are no marking and he is mad of a plastic sort of like the old Lido figures. I got him from a “collectables” store. I have no idea who made him or if he is from a set of figures or  a promotional give away  or what? He has scuff marks on the back of his heels so I do not think he is of recent production.

I purchased these Indians  recently.  I liked them because they were different poses I normally see.  The figures are based on the Britains swoppet Indians. The maker took various figures and changed them around.

Plastic Figure Showcase August 2016Here is a close up of the four foot Indian figures.  The one on the far right is a direct copy of Britains Herald. The others are made up of Britains swoppet Indians.

Next we have a Timpo Bren gun Carrier.  There are two versions, the basic different is one is with British soldiers. The other version is with  American soldiers.  The second version was used in the Aurora Beachhead Invasion set.

Plastic Figure Showcase August 2016 Alain Thomas

Plastic Figure Showcase August 2016

Our good friend Alain Thomas from Europe has allowed me to share some photos from his collection.  First is of MPC Indians  and copies. The top row are  definitely MPC. The bottom row are copies as the Indians are two thin. Alain thinks the figures were made in Russia.

Plastic Figure Showcase August 2016Staying with MPC you will notice the MPC Russians are in an unusual color. Alain is not sure if they are original or copies.  This is just part of his massive collection.  Alain got these figures in Europe at flea markets and shows.  I told him I was the same way on foreign figures. Until I got over to Europe in the late 1980’s most of my foreign figures  were found here.

The last two photos from Alain are the Heimo cowboys and Indians. As my mention by our friend Denitz the Marx molds and overrun stock were purchase by a party in Germany who sold the figures in Europe.

    Impressive!!!!!!1

The first figure I’m almost positive is Mexican Bottleneck from late 70’s ,is still being reissue till late 90’s, but I had see it as soft silver plastic type
Is part of a series base but elaborated varied from he man comics monster characters but not exact copies…typical hybrid bottleneck …
Will double check and see it later…

Indian-Herald copies are HK-Late 70’s I got some in mint bag. Are unusual as well copies ,not later cloned cheap mold copies.

The MPC gold Russian (if stiff plastic) are from BASA -1990’s as well I brought a lot packs here from Peru ,same in Japanese that were reissued in silver and gold.
I resold then here from 1995-2001.
DSD-from Argentina sold then out too from their store-skorpiontoys as well.

Both molds Japanese and Russian were in there till 1999 till sold out as scrap w most others as far I know and was informed direct by employer.(Juan Carlos De PIerola)

BASA was main toy company from PERU, they to produced and obtain Marx Prince Valiant original charters SET of main poses mold and sold in bags, I have sets of then as well the MPC figure to show if like.

Another set they got hold in to actual mold or copied exact mold were the knights from French brand in 8 poses, I forgot brand now but could show then too.
BASA was owned by Italian immigrant and run from 1959 till late 90’s

The Indians in bottom were sold too by BASA as well , later sold as cheap bottleneck/else kiosks bags in Mexico.I had seen Italy brand selling then in bags but in soft as far I remember. So may be another runner copied there in Europe or same mold went to Basa later!?
The Heimo collection is awesome-WOW!!!so is all rest ….
HEIMO original German designed x Marx additional poses of Indians(two mounted-only one show above) and mounted cowboys are hard to get here and a great never done x US market.
Alain has an awesome collection and made great books for the hobby..

I remember now BASA copied the 7 foot poses of Guilbert knights/men at arms medieval figures. Unpainted in multicolor plastic.
Some of the poses were very similar too Jim too ,but I later find out are exact copies or same mold from Guilbert.
I manage to get 4 bags of 40 figures each ,after many sales I still have 2 poses each.
I do not know if the two mounted poses were reissued or copied too.

I was told that the company in Peru was run by two brothers one liked Americans the other did not. They also had 54mm Marx sailors.

Correct. Those are the son of funder.Did not know about the other part.
Yes ,also LIDO FFL,ARABS,COWBOYS and Gis
Part of MARX civilian poses and
        and others.
However in 90s when I get hand in what thay have.no all was run.Lido yes and saw the molds of FFL plus arabs, but not others.Arabs and FFL were done w correct horses and camels, but 90s were done in fiesta not bright color.
Great quality plastic.I still got some. But never brought those x sale here.
They were remakers and redistribute most.
Example the playmobil brand was pack in cases w BASA
        logo in it.
