More Jescan and Plasty Western Items

More Jescan and Plasty Western Items  looks at more items from these two European companies. These items comes from the collections of two of very good friends Markus Leckscheid and Erwin Sell.  Jescan as we have mentioned before made many western items. In the 1960’d and 1970’s western were very popular in Europe. The demand for westerns  was so great they made their own westerns. Using imported American actors several of these movies have become classics.

More Jescan and Plasty Western Items First of all we have some western items from our vey good friend Markus Leckscheid. The first item is a water tower and windmill. These two items were an important part of the west.  The American windmill was invented in 1854 by Daniel Halladay. It was use to draw water from wells . The water tower was used to hold the water.

Here is picture of the water tower and windmill out the box.  The only other windmill I can think of off hand done for figures is one by New Ray.

The next Jescan item from Markus is a three tier box. This is equivalent to a Marx western playset. In a Marx playset you would get tin litho street. In the above Jescan set, you get five plastic buildings.  You can arrange them in any order. The set also contains a covered wagon.

From Plasty,, we have from Markus a livery stable.  I like its arrangement with a side place to tie your horses. Timpo also did a western stable.

The last photo from Markus is another Plasty item but not western.  It is a set of Plasty modern civilians. The box is marked as tourists. I got some figures by Plasty in a cable car. Markus told me he took some loose civilians and gave them weapons so they could be resistance fighters.

More Jescan and Plasty Western Items Our very good friend Erwin Sell has sent us more photos of the Jescan jail and Doctor Elixir wagon. This photo shows the three figures that came with the wagon.

Erwin placed this Jescan figure with the wagon. He noted it was shown on some boxes’ pictures. It was also included in the western large playset with a carriage. The figure was also in the Bonanza sets. It could have been used as the doctor with wagon.

Did not bring this figure(DR!?), however it was show in some boxes picture and included in the western town large playset with carriage as well Bonansa sets.

The figure I believe is Yancy Derringer.  It was a television show that lasted 34 episodes. On the show Yancy carried a cane that held a sword. It is a figure you could use as other characters in your stories.

I knew I would forget some other buildings.

    • erwin says:

One interesting detail is the Jecsan water tower tank is open on top .
The Comansi taller but skinner version has a conical typical roof, it is often included in one of the three version later series forts I sold in 90’s here too.
But the Jecsan looks bigger and different to me too.

Thanks admin x character name and on Chinese cooker too before. I do not have clue about characters from movies, TV or else I need to add it to my catalog now ,otherwise will forget it soon.
It is very interesting to know who great involved Spaniards companies such Pech,Hermanos,Jecsan and Comansi recreated so many popular Characters in many cases more than most US toy companies back them.
I have red from Spaniards bloggers how the popular TV and film shows were very popular in Spain back them and as some Toys advertise from Spain in you tube show were very well advertise.
A clear testament of United Sate strong nice culture abroad.

The people who were on the television shows and movies are not aware of the items that were made overseas.

I bet they did not, today would be a hold different issue of course…
is nice to know how many actors had been represented in toy soldiers /figures and many actors do not even know off..

I think Britains did 2 stables. One for the Western Town series and one for the Horse farm set.

I have all 4 Britains western buildings in their packages.
I also have the Comansi Fort, along with all of their Western Buildings in the boxes.

My favorite buildings are the “Marx like” wooden creations by Allan Hahn.
I have 25 or so of them and they are excellent.

I only have one Britain full building and other partial, but recall see an stable ,x a moment I though I was wrong…
Comansi did 3 early different forts that differ of 3 later models.(forts made of light wood board carved and plastic inner building parts.)Forts are more 54 mm wile figures are 60/70 mm
A New Comansi fort is been made totally different design from previews with actual last series of soldiers fully painted made in late 90’s and early 2000.It is on sale all over
Comansi still produce some older last series forts with some Indian\s and soldiers(NOT cowboys) sets under special commission request.
They are still very active in the new toy line series in Spain.
In 1994/95 I brought direct entire load in pallet from Spain(Comansi ) with 3 different forts and all 6 building types plus wagon and stagecoach abd buket with tall kinghts and modern armies sets .Back them I sold then by list or at shows, last batch remaining lot sold at Hackensack around 2008/2009.
I still have one each sample x me…
I contact then in 2013,no longer want to reissue them as they move all machinery to warehouse and dismount for new system. That is what they said.
I remember when receive the pallet I have to mark every box outside to indicate what model house and carriage was in box so I did not get confuse wile selling …
