Kit Carson

This is a great little figure I recently picked up on Ebay. It is a figure of Kit Carson. (It state his name on the base.) The figure is 54mm and was stated as Kinder type. What that means it is a figure that you put together.  It snaps together. Kinder Egg itself did a number of figures such as pirate, Napoleonic officers and Zulu Warriors that were put into plastic capsule then placed in a hollow choclate egg. Kinder Eggs are quite popular in Europe and other countries. Kinder Eggs are banned here in the United States due to the child saftey laws and a ban on having a non food item inside a food item . Some stores used to import them in the country, but were stopped by Customs.

This is not a Kinder Egg. I feel it is from a similar company that made it. I would say that the figure is from a Spanish company.  As I get more information on them I will let you know.

In Canada our kids know the difference between plastic and chocolate so Big Brother hasn’t stopped stores from selling Kinder Eggs here,LOL.

I used to have one of those, he was a cowboy with a lasso, not sure what happened to him.

We have laws that demand the ridiculous and obvious, but when it comes to REAL citizen and consumer protection (such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau which was created but remains unfunded and toothless by Congress) we are left at the roadside.

A child can eat a bug, twig, or pebble found on the playground; will the law stop that? A mother might want a room where the child is safe from such, but like the TV; if you don’t want it, don’t let it in.
    Apparently not good enough.

The little HTF Swappable parts are as numerous as various, and this law pulls the rug out from under widespread sales. It may also be why we have no more Britains Swoppets and those of other companies. HTF cannot sell its history-oriented products in museum and park gift stores due to this – so we lose sales and kids lose springboards to learning.

But that’s only half the problem.
Years ago, HTF sought to popularize historical toys – starting at a local level, but was totally rebuffed – by the school system no less – in favor of Star Wars and other fantasy toys that “do not promote war”. I guess they didn’t read the title; “Star WARS”. Did not matter; the women were in armlock, and the men… were there any?

Colin Powell (years ago) stated publicly that he felt there was no evidence that “war toys” made children violent. But we, as a society, keep our head in the sand about the subject; if we don’t acknowledge soldiers and police as needed, their necessity will somehow go away. Sad.

So; swappet toy soldiers face double jeopardy in this nation.
But learning all about Pokemon and Spiderman is ok.
