Pvblivs WWII Russian in Winter Dress

rsz_wp_20151105_004Pvblivs new set is WWII Russians in Winter dress. The set contains six different figures: officer advancing with pistol, grenade thrower, female sniper, advancing, attacking with knife and advancing  with sub machine gun.  Once again these figures are well detailed and will fit in with  other Russian figures that have been done by various companies.  There are already grumbles that the female sniper has already been done by TSSD  and Engineer Bassevitch.

As we get more information we will post it.

Update 11/12/15

We have another photo that shows some of the Pvblivs Russian winter war figures in different positions.

6450296In this picture you can see the other side of the Russian advancing and frontal poses of the Russian officer and the Russian soldier stabbing with a knife.  I am now seeing grumble about another knife pose as Engineer Bassevitch had already done one. The Russians had a lot of hand to hand combat with the Germans in Stalingrad and other cities during the war, so having another knife fighter is not bad. I can see this figure getting ready to jump into a foxhole

On the female sniper  figure, if anyone makes another one the need to be kneeling firing or laying firing as this is a more realistic pose for this type of figure that what has been done.

We still have not heard a price for this set of figures. Once we know we will posted it.

Nice.Ok we got another sniper girl. This one has the SVT-40 sniper version -NEW WEAPON .She could well be Liudmyla Mykhailivna Pavlychenko who used the weapon depicted and is one of the most decorated soviet female snipers of the war .
TSSD female is in summer uniform plus with a Mossin N Rifle,EB same summer uniform with skirts -looking more in training than front combat and again same rifle as TSSD. Beside Soviet army had several female famous snipers which I won’t waste time mention their name now and over 2000 served in the front.
So far I can see the scope is much better detailed than previews factories figures poses.
I think is new complete figure like every company had done a bazooka man in GI’s figures with different design still firing the bazooka . They looks great.

A new film was just released early this year about the sniper Mykhailivna Pavlychenko
with great war realism and action plus a romance non historical and else. Nice too see as well last soviet film, Stalingrad and Leningrad done recently.
here is a link previews of it.

Is the sniper woman wearing a amoeba pattern Scout suit? I hope so?
Too bad about the Scout with the knife, ENG BASS already beat them to that pose.
Its a waste of a good Scout sculpt!
You gotta love the Assault Engineer in Body Armor!
Someone should do a whole set of those guys!

PVBLIVS has the BEST sculpting in the business!

This is a beautiful set, I might even be tempted to buy these inspite of my sincerely conscientiously held beliefs against paying so much for toy soldiers (LOL).

  5. Christian Aldo says:

Buy them, support the small run companies doing really cool stuff.
    I’m getting 3 sets myself.

  6. Brian McIver says:

Not really my time scale but they would be an interesting subject to paint. here would these be available to buy?

  7. erwin says:

I agree with both views in my opinion.
But seen the reduce of cheap production figures such as AIP, waterloo and others with only CTS once every 6 moth or more and TSSD reduced set release and poses I will said and agree with ALDO. The future of this hobby will depend in high short run figures/set price value. Short run depend a lot in fast investment and quick recovery. that only could be done with high price sale.
Long run(more cheap cost per figures) take way too long to make profit in figure sets because of factories(from china ) asking for least 3000 to more batch set production. Only companies located in the east using low paid and not that low hand could reduce price. Chinese had become more smart and when asked by any American/western company to produce x them they start realizing how much more could do and ask for more. No longer the 60 to mid 90’s
Unfortunately this hobby move slow and not fast profit. Short run seem to me a more logic solution to such demand of rarity and new figures/set plus quality.
The Russian two main company producing now feat in that category , even EXF are making high price sets now and Stangle’s new sets are short run too as far I see. All start after Conte with high mark price years ago. The price will be close or higher than many vintage soon or now. Still if a set of never or hard to get figures is release I think is worth the price. Specially when used for armies that required not many drill formation poses.
If making large battles scenes you may consider using cheap or reissues with few or high mark prices. That is what gamers(other hobby that buy most soldiers new production) do all time.
Again my observation on price and the like or not to buy it always in the collector eye and of course pocket, not because short or not in money but because what he/she think is worth. That is a real personal opinion and I do respect all.

To each his own, but I really think at this time of year – over six bucks a figure by time one pays S&H is a bit steep, I was balking at paying X-Force’s prices. Beautiful figures, too. I don’t blame anyone who buys these guys, but unless they find some way to bring their cost down or I can get a bargain one day (and THAT has been known to happen) I’ll sadly have to pass.

    • Don Perkins says:

Wayne, remember that Brian McIver’s calculation was that the figures came to a per figure price not of $7.00 per figure, but rather 7 Pounds Sterling each, which equates to $10.20 per figure, after you factor in postage. Which in my mind sets a new record for the price of new production plastic figures today —- one which I also have to say “No Thanks” to.

      • Wayne W says:

Don, you are right, I miscalculated the $49 and forgot to add S&H which jacks the price of each figure up to almost $12 a figure. And I thought they were too much then…

I understand the problem of production costs and all, but eventually the market has to speak out to what equilibrium price is or we’ll be paying metal prices for unpainted plastic.

    • erwin says:

I hear you Wayne. I do have my price set for figures too ,unfortunately once the ball start rolling is not stop, so we either try adjust or just pass on .

      • Wayne W says:

As I said above, the market will speak. I hate the crunch the producers are in and I do try to support new makers as much as I can, I count several as friends, or at least friendly acquaintances. I am concerned about both the producers AND collectors if we reach a point we cannot afford the new sets at the prices they have to charge the market might dry up completely.

          Wayne
I understand your concern on the high prices for figures. Erwin discuss the problem of making figures, the base is not there to sell at lower costs of the old days. Now it is to sell figures with shorter runs with higher prices. It gives collectors a tough decision, do you pay the price or skip the item. It is not only in plastic figures, but in the metal figures. Makers are doing shorter runs and raising the prices.

  9. Wayne W says:

I guess toy soldiers DEFINITELY aren’t for little boys any more. Kind of sad, when you think about it – even with the superb figures available.

  10. alex2010collection is the seller. I have been buying figures as I can from Alex for a couple years now, and he is a prince of a guy. Lives in St. Petersburg.
