Here are the scouts, nice action poses. Once again engineer Bassevitch has come up with a great set of figures.  As we hear who is carrying them we will let you know. I known Denitz from Russia will have them.

Thanks to Brian and Breizh  making us aware of these figures.

What is the kneeling figure doing?Checking her makeup?Nice set only problem for me is I HATE saluting figures but some interesting subjects of poses that I don’t think have been seen much before, although Starlux has a Russian Woman standing shooter. But Bassevitch needs a Batista Cuban set to go with their Castro set.

    • erwin says:

Again nice set with way more action poses, god job!!Thanks
For those asking woman of the red army, here is the answer I guess, now you have enough to entertain the soldiery
For now any US infantry will do the Regular Cuban army. They wore same 1942 uniform with gear and weapon ,just light brow color with OD helmet. Body wise Marx are more recommended as most were young conscript ages from 16-20 poorly trained.
For rural police(Also involved fighting Cuban revolutionaries) all have to do is if want-could=can; cut -glue some different head with mounted Canadian hat.

    • Don Perkins says:

Did you ever serve in the army, Brian —- any army? Of all the things that happen in the military —- war or peace —- saluting is probably the most common. Next to marching, of course. Ha Ha Ha!

I agree with Erwin the kneeling Russian woman is a medical attendant.

Have a few non-combatted poses in a large set like this.

  2. ed borris says:

Wow, 12 poses, that’s a lot. They look good, I like the long haired babe with the Schmeisser and the homie in the hoodie firing from the shoulder.

  3. ed borris says:

Yeah , but those are my favorites. I could do without the standing at attention, saluting, waving whatever the one chick is waving and the searching for her lipstick poses, but the others are pretty good. I’m not sure what that other poses where she is running is doing, but at least she’s moving.

  4. erwin says:

Some of the woman poses are good for 007 movies scenarios too.
In y opinion being the fact that most woman did not combat as men ,the saluting and standing pose are a good for a quarter/command staff, farewell saluting, else scene.
The signaling pose is cloned from a war propaganda picture I had see many times.
First ever done like that by the way, the poses attending wounded is very interesting as is searching for kits to help wound-well done and unique.

  5. erwin says:

Ed; the running is advancing ready to throw a mass multi charge grenade antitank bomb(33 pounds) in her right hand. The left hand is well position as taking balance because of heavy weight in other. A good observation in artist/sculptor by the way.

  6. ed borris says:

She must be a bruiser if she can throw something that weighs 33 pounds, give her a hormone test. I wonder if she was later an East German swimmer. Anyway it’s a decent pose no matter what she’s doing, just can’t see it real well because it’s on the side away from me.

    • erwin says:

Russian girls are big and strong .LOL!!
It was intent to short throw to back part or armor vehicle(short distance)
But yes she may be the finalist winner, as most died trying because explode to close!!LOL!!
Or may be she is running with a 4 pack vodka!!!

  7. erwin says:

Nice tale!!,Russian war movies made about 85% off al film history during soviet era.Wondering how many more they will do then.

  8. Andy Keliar says:

Atlantic made some medical figures that would fit in with kneeling nurse.

  9. erwin says:

Yes ,agree Atlantic did the best med personel, just a bit modern but very acceptable to match; Marx and tim mee did some but scales are odd.
Britain civil med set could be used too may be!!

  10. Les White says:

The lady with the sticks is on traffic control duty, with traffic wands. Women were used in this role in the USSR and later East Germany and are still being used for this in North Korea.
Could the lady identified as a pilot not be used as a Tank commander, many tanks had a high proportion of women at one point in the war.
One of the OSPREY books, forgot which one, shows women Scouts. So are these figures female too.
If you are into converting the saluting figure can be altered by moving the right arm and the attention figure could have one arm swapped with the traffic controller, giving you two of them with one stick each, so you could have two road junctions covered :))

  11. erwin says:

Yes, I agree in most good ideas.
The traffic girl could be use for all those roles, swapping arms poses with saluting is a great idea to have the all road reverse team. I think could also be used for German too if head change too and minor blouse change done.
The pilot hat is not the one used by tank crew URSS, neither air jumpsuit depicted.
Tank crew woman were depicted most as many other for pure propaganda, included the exaggerated (aces). Most woman were sent to the transfer roles of tank moving from rear to battle front. But I guess you can accept any the war propaganda if like.
The four scout poses look to me very man like not women.

  12. christian Aldo says:

I’m far more excited about the SCOUTS.
The female figures should have always just been mixed in with regular sets.
A prone Scout Sniper would have been great!

    I’ll buy 3 boxes!

  13. Wayne W says:

This is a truly great set. Normally the price of EB sets put me off, as beautifully done as they have been. This set IMHO would be worth the investment as they would compliment the many Russian/Soviet soldiers I have from other manufacturers as well as fill a gap oft neglected in the hobby (remember TSSD’s female sniper pose in their Russian set).

I agree that saluting/attention poses are fairly useless for gaming or combat dios, but as others have said, are essential for rear area and HQs scenarios, where traditionally many women served no matter what army – I think the set would be incomplete without at least one pose reflecting that duty.

If I might share a memory brought back by the saluting thing. I was once scolded by a young lieutenant for failing to salute in a combat zone. I smiled as nicely as I could and told him I would have saluted but didn’t want to find out if there were any snipers in the area. We had been under occasional sniper fire for a day or two. He thought about it a moment, blushed, smiled sheepishly, and thanked me. I said, “Don’t mention it, sir.” He was a good kid, but we hadn’t been in combat since Vietnam, before his time, and a lot of things had been forgotten.

  14. erwin says:

Wayne, glad you made it out of sniper “probably easy target” when saluting.Hope the officer did too and made it alive !.thank you for sharing the experience.
And yes we all love battle action poses ;but the few woman in this sets are well depicted in what most woman had done in past and still during war, staff, intelligence ,signal , AA crew, med ,nurse, else duties as you say and mentioned.
About price I got my price mind set on new products coming till now least no matter what they are $3.00 is my TOP per figure unpainted new production.
These(RUSSIANS EB sets) with shipping in US and from Europe cost from $3.90 minimum in old sets to $5.05 per new set figures. In my opinion that is a big NOT even after know are limited run series and unique .What will happen is if someone start doing limited sets in US or other will be doing same and soon we will see the price go sky rocket forever. So far I had see in increase in price already ;CTS ,TSSD and AUSTIN new sets with EF are already increased and will go high mark again soon. Stengel’s never released sets were planning for a high priced short run figures as well too. That is where my mind think twice in order to prevent what most large retailers had done in pass. (The more an item sale the more they increase price to make money fast as hot item and “some times” launch a “hook-special promotion” that is to sale when things go slow)). That is my point on prices.
If I never get them is ok, I’m sure soon or later will get a set from another buyers who run out interested or else in eBay and else. I did have a good luck no long ago to buy all(1917-1922) revolution sets at once from a Bulgarian eBay seller who list then under game figures for an extremely low price and in one big lot with full poses set plus only $10.00 shipping ,took longer to arrive but got all, at the end my cost per each set was only $5.00 included shipping on this deal.

I am not thrilled either on price of the Russian figures. They are unique and interesting I am very interested in them. I will use dollar cost averaging to justify the purchase when I do buy them. ( dollar averaging is where you buy one item for $10.00 and another item for $6.00 so your average cost is $7.50.) I will be looking for someone to sell the sets at a loss. Finally I never know what I will pick up at a show or flea market.

  15. Don Perkins says:

I thought Conte led the way on high-priced plastic figures when he released his Spartans, and the price per figure came out to be just over $3.00. Of course, they were very good-sized figures, beautifully sculpted, and articulated to boot. I wanted them so bad that I got over my price shock and ended up buying 4 cases of them.

Unfortunately, that paved the way for increased prices on all new production, so that now it’s just routine to have a per figure price in excess of $2.50 and up — more for producers like Exped. Force, which admittedly are pretty good, even with the distraction of having to glue them together.

These new Russian figures, however, really take the cake in terms of high per figure prices. But I’ve still acquired most of them because of the uniqueness of their subject matter —– Russian Civil War, Castro Cubans, Ancient Hebrews, and now female WWII Soviets. They’ve clearly figured out how to identify neglected historical periods. Besides, the nature of what they’ve done is such that I only need one box of each of their releases — with these subjects it’s not like you’ve got to set up an American Civil War battle with mass formations.

  16. Wayne W says:

Erwin, I apologize for missing your response to my post; everything turned out all right in the end. The young lieutenant ended up retiring as a Colonel after some twenty-four years in service. As I said, a good “kid” and really a fine officer once he grew up a bit.

I agree with the comments on price increases. I recognize that some of the increase is just the inevitable result of trying to cover the costs of doing business with all the contributing factors. What we as consumers have to consider is how much we can afford to pay for each figure – or how much we are willing to pay. But it’s a two-edged sword, If producers cannot meet costs the production will stop. By the same token, we have to defend against gouging
