More on Greg’s Romans

We have heard from Greg Liska and an update of his Roman. This is about what he did to some Thomas Toy Romans with whips that were damaged.

I had 2 whip guys that were broken. One was, the other had a screwed up whip. The swords are left over Thomas Toy swords from the swordsman pose that I’d converted to archers. I think thisĀ an animated and looking natural pose. I have another sword guy coming for conversion. I would love to find at least one more whip guy to convert like this

Sorry for the badly written message. My computer had some issues where it was dropping letters and entire words. A deep scan got rid of that. Hope everyone could follow what I was trying to say.

Don’t worry Greg, I did and if everyone could understand me they will definitely get any other minor k errors.
Nice idea and good choice pose plus moving head was much better. Those timpo roman shield are the best and come very handy!!

Nice job, they look original ,any ideas for opponents ?

Thanks guys. As to opponents; yes. there are loads of them! I have Mx WoW Vikings which I use as any N. Euro barbarian tribe. I’ve got Britians Greeks, a load of figures by Chariot that look like generic Mesopotamians, a load of copy Britians Saracens that I use as Libyans or Numidians. Then I bought up a bunch of Stevens Hobbies Ancients – Greeks, Romans, Vikings, Saracens, and Russian Knights which I end up using as all sorts of things from Persians to Dacians to Parthians (yeah, not all that accurate, but they just don’t make them). Lastly, there are my 54mm Mx Romans that I did all sorts of conversion work on. So, Rome has no shortage of enemies.

As a side note, TSSD stocks Romans and Barbarians, 12 poses of each. The Barbarians are pretty cool, they were sculpted by a guy who normally does sculpts of athletic figures, primarily baseball, you can see his background in the sculpts of the Barbarians especially the guy swinging a club, he has the classic baseball swing down to the footwork. The Romans to my understanding were sculpted using a 3d printer or some type of computer generated sculpt. We just so happen to have a set of each set in stock, I know I packed them up yesterday after they didn’t sell at the Kane County show.
