What is Wrong with This Picture

The answer to that question is the hats and shields are new production by Ralf Daum of Germany. He is doing a wide array of accessories for Timpo, Plasty and others. I will show more examples in the near future including a green teepee based on the Timpo Teepee.

He should make up little accessory packs, find a U.S. distributor like Marxman or Hobby Bunker or TSSD, and then commence selling them. I need a few of the crusader and knight shields for my shieldless Timpo knights.

I really don’t want to start trying to order things directly from Germany, anymore than I want to commence ordering directly from Russia. Globalization is inescapable, and to me that means manufacturers finding a distributor in each country in which they want to sell. A professional distributor knows how to make things actually accessible to every interested customer.

  2. Good!
The old shields were goofy looking anyway.

  3. Brian Johnson says:

Pass on to Herr Daum that the accessories for the Timpo German/US Chieftain tank at an reasonable price would be a good seller.

I actually had a mold made for Britains replacement bases for the ACW/AWI swops.
Don Ducate made the mold and pumped out bases by the hundreds for me. I sold a bunch over in the UK, but nothing over here. I still have a couple of hundred of them.

I used them with Deetail figures by removing the silly green metal base, cutting the pegs off the figure and drilling holes in the feet. Worked out pretty good and really improved the figure in my eyes. I did the same thing with the Men of ’76 figures and was happy with that also.
