Greg Liska’s Timmee American Civil War Artillery Gun Crew Greg with a new project. This time it is gun crews to use with your Timmee Civil War figures. One of the problem with many makers is they did a limited number of poses. To over coming that problem you have either mix in other companies’ figures or do conversions. In the article Greg went the second way.
Greg Liska’s Timmee American Civil War Artillery Gun Crew Greg’s Figures
Here is what Greg has to say about his figures.
I picked up a load of Timmee ACW guys cheap at the Atlanta toy and figure show and decided my Timmee-Lido ACW ‘set’ needed some artillery guys that fit in better than the ring hands I’d been using. In the bag, it turned out there were some MPC ring hands anyway. I decided the one with arms down could be made to fit in.
I did 5 full crews for each side. The Rebs of course got a lot of hat swap-outs. Some loaders are loading round shot, some are loading shell. You can see the 3 poses I used.
If anybody has any Timmee ACW marchers and buglers to get rid of (damage in certain areas OK), I’d be interested. I’m also looking for RED and WHITE BMC AWI artillery crews.
If you want to help Greg, I will pass your email to Greg.
If you have any conversions you want to share send them to me at pestad@gmail.com
Greg never run off ideas to give any use to any few will ever think off.
Well done.!!!
I may check local garage sale as TIM MEE civil war are often around here but more close to spring.we are still a bit far up here .
Best
Great idea for expanding the Tim Mee ACW range. I have seen the re-issues available on line – has anyone bought these? I thought about making conversions too but will not cut up my originals.
I bought some of the recasts from Wild West Toys. They are a quality run. I noticed they were selling them on Ebay. I went to their site to get them. This was not quite 2 years ago. Here is the site:

The ones in this project were originals, but some were badly mauled. I had to clean them, trim off scuffs, etc.
Nice Job Greg !
Thanks, Mark. I feel like my goofy, cartoonish ACW set is now complete.
