This That June 2016

This That June 2016  is going be a section where I cover some things not toy soldier related and others that are toy soldier related but missed my monthly odds and ends. We will look at this time the closing of a local hot dog stand, news on the boys  and some other things so let’s get started.

This That June 2016  Yocco’s Closes Original  Store

Yesterday we received news that Yocco’s was closing it original location on Liberty Street in Allentown Pennsylvania.  The location had been opened from  1934.  They are closing  due poor sales.  They will still have five stores in the area.  this spot was unique as it was the only one that sold beer.  I had got there in the 70’s and would have two hot dogs along with a Tilly’s molasses cake, which is also long gone.  After moving out of the area I believe I was only there a few times due to the parking.

It seems each town has a favorite hot dog stand. People returning home will have to have one of their favorite hot dogs for old times sake.  People will put up their noses at  rival hot dogs.  We just recently had a family east of here go to court  to see which branch would keep the right to their hot dog empire. The Boys

This That June 2016

People ask about our boys. They are doing well. Quinn will be six years old this month. Here is a picture of him when we first got him.

This That June 2016

The boys love to sit on our laps. Sparky always wants the left side  and sometimes has to deal with Quinn stealing his spot.  If they come on my lap I move Quinn to the right spot so Sparky can has his spot. Quinn will come over and first lay across my chest and listen to my heart beat until he decides to go on my side.

This That June 2016 Peter Fritz

We have heard from our good friend Bob Mulero that he had just visited Peter Fritz.  Bob did not go into details  so I would everything is the same. I may see Bob at an antique show in the area in June. If I do Iwill get more details on Peter.

We were glad to see the Nick of TSSD got to this year’s Texas show. As you know Nick has been fighting health issues these past few years.  People are waiting to see his Vietnam playset and figures.
