Aurora Monster Scenes

There is a book coming out on the Aurora Monster Scenes. these monster kits ended up in a lot of controversy and were pull from the market. If you are interesting in knowing about them check the link below:

An interesting side note I picked up a couple of the Vampirella model kits without the boxes in theĀ  1980’s in the UK. They had been found in a storage unit at Pinewood Studios

Interesting article.I did not know they were pull back because of “that”;well today the shelf are full extremely gross graphic pictures on case/cover of video game and movies is 10 times more morbid and sick than all this and no complain at all.
Too bad we had become too weak and so funny charter toys are not done/sold, my daughter play with these old guys all times and even play with a fake toy brain to learn parts of brain not to do sick stuff. I give her my MPC and new Amex and one day will give the vintage other brand such palmer for her too.
Least most these past monster talk…today cartoons-no monster – make scream, drama, hysterical and odd noise and are intended for small kids!!?WOW!!My girl ask me all time what they doing, I can barely explain. Felix cat silent cartoon is more understandable for her even in B/W and she love it.

As I used to tell my kids times change, folks become jaded as the boundaries are pushed. Remember the shock when Archie Bunker did the first toilet flush on TV? The Cleaver Household (nor did any other on TV) didn’t even HAVE a toilet. I remember being shocked as a kid when my family visited Lincoln’s home in Springfield, IL and I saw an outhouse – after all, none of the movies ever showed him going to the bathroom… Lucy and Ricky slept in twin beds, it was the Brady Mom and Dad who showed the first married couple sleeping together. And it’s sadly funny that more skin is exposed on primetime TV now than Marilyn Monroe showed in the infamous first “Playboy” centerfold. My favorite though is the famous scene from “Alien” and how shocked we were when the critter jumps out of John Hurt’s stomach; just a few years later in “Spaceballs” the critter hops out of Hurt’s stomach again and does a song and dance routine on the cafe’s bar. The shock over the Aurora models (and I had a few) is both funny – and kind of sad at the same time.

Wayne, you make me laugh with Alien-1 and yes you are right; the first time(much younger=child) I seat tide and the scene from the alien baby coming out and was shock. Then after with Spaceballs it was funny black humor but I was a big grow up I guess!!
