October 2025 Toy Show Time, for the next few months I will be busy with shows. This past weekend I ended up doing three shows. Two shows were close to home, while the third one was in Delaware. Each show came up with surprises, one sad, and a good time.
October 2025 Toy Show Time Jake’s Flea Market

My first show was at Jake’s Flea Market. Jake’s owned a building which was used for special events. The event that weekend was a toy show. I arrived at the market and walked towards the show. On the outskirts of the show, I found a dealer with some figures. One of them was the Marx pirate with two pistols reissue. Marx had made 13 poses for a pirate playset, which was never actually produced. Twelve of the pirate poses were sent to Hong Kong, while the thirteenth pose remained in the U.S. This cavity was discovered by Glencoe Model.
I was initially thrown off by the color as I am used to the ivory color. I also acquired some Airfix knights, 60mm Robin Hood reissue figures, and the Marx mounted Arab reissue. Next, I ran into Tom Stine. He had found a few items, including a Jungle playset.
The Building

Inside the building, I ran into an old friend, Steve Falken. He shared some sad news with me – his wife Gretchen had been in a nursing home since July because she could no longer walk. I recall attending two weddings with Laurie in one year. The first one was for a friend’s son who was marrying the daughter of the head of Neurosurgery at a Philadelphia hospital. I felt it was a lavish $50,000 wedding. The other wedding was Steve’s and Gretchen’s. Theirs was a pleasant, small affair with just a few friends and family. After the ceremony, they hosted a delightful gathering at their home. I think we enjoyed their wedding more. I spent some time chatting with Steve. After our conversation, I headed home.Inside the building, I found Steve Falken, an old friend. I sat with Steve for a bit and we talked. After that I headed home.
Paper Show
My second show was the local paper show. I went there to meet some friends. I managed to find some damaged Zorro character figures.
Delaware Toy Show

On Sunday, I attended the Delaware Toy Show, which is one of my favorite events. I arrived early and managed to get early access. Upon entering, I noticed that several of my regular figure dealers were absent. I found a Mexican bootleg of Hulk at Craig Dawson’s tables. I liked this figure because it is not a duplicate of the Marx figure. Craig also had a Marx Battleground playset for $175.00, which I decided to pass on.

I did manage to find some Marx six-inch figures. After catching up with some friends, I stopped at my favorite Mexican restaurant before heading home.
Any day that ends with Mexican food, is a good day.
