Gulliver Japanese

gulliver Japanese
the official Gulliver dealer has added the Gulliver Japanese to his sale list. They are copies of the Airfix and Atlantic figures You can see them here.

Warhorse Miniatures

Saxons
Mike Predergast announced on Facebook that he is doing Saxon Peasants. Here is what mike has to say about his figures. Saxon Peasants. There might be a small change in some of these figures before they are released. These figures are about the same size as the W. Britain Toy Soldiers and the larger 1/32 scaled figures like Conte or the Barzso Medieval figures. I am labeling them 1/31 in scale since they are not the true 1/32(54mm) and are smaller than 1/30 scaled figures. (House is by Atherton Scenics)

    Great news all.
Hope Hat won’t let us down as they been announcing those sets since 2015.

  2. Wayne W says:

The Rangers; great set, obviously recreating Ponte du Hoc, but I’m looking forward to them as even with the bangalore torpedoes they’d be useful for other units as well and would mix well with other infantry units. Mars is rapidly becoming one of my favorite makers – particularly World War 2.

As to the HaT figures? I’ve known they’ve just been waiting on the factory to get off their duffs to make them. I painted masters of them last Fall (one of the last projects I was able to finish before my eye surgery). They are nicely done. I am pulling for HaT; the guy is trying to keep producing under nearly impossible circumstances. The man has the patience of Job.

The Saxon Peasants set is a great idea. I wish there were more of these. Strelets-R has introduced civilians in some of their 1/72 Napoleonic Cavalry sets – much needed. They’re replacing the old Streltsi guys they used to include, I guess. We could use more in 1/32 scale that don’t cost a mortgage payment.

    • Biff Smith says:

I would love a set of those Saxon Peasants. I am currently stuck on this theme diorama wise, and it all looks like a perfect fit. Sharp set!

  3. Mark T. says:

The guy selling Gulliver is marking them up SO high. One of my FB Brazilian collector friends says the Gulliver figures are in stores there for the equivalent of one or two dollars a bag, with forts going for less than the equivalent of $20-25.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Yes .He’s a reseller ,typical eBay.
Making business off hobby and not as collector but x pure money.
I will imagine he will sale less and sooner stop.
Atlantic Japanese are even cheaper in box and Airfix super abundant ,so I see no reason why people will buy these so much.
Germans Gullliver set as has 3 poses variations versus atlantic may sale a bit more.Yet no that great as a big sale either.
      My thoughts.

  4. Bobby Moore says:

Another great well done set from MARS. I look forward to these and other WW2 sets they will make. One correction, the Ranger standing has a pole charge, not a bangalore.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

I’m wondering if they will any Army engineer corp army pose set with prone or crawling with Bangalore torpedo as seen in war era real films or movie The Longest day .It was used in many other actions after as well pacific .
Mars design ,perfection in poses ,detail in uniforms and variation diversity sets had become much better ,but they still need much work on weapons and helmet detail as often crude or not alike .I notice same weapons depicted in two figures in one same set not in scale accordantly
      my though

      • Bobby Moore says:

I would love to see MARS do a late war set of G.I.’s using satchelcharges, pole charges, bangalores, and flamethrowers, in poses like they are attacking German pillboxes and bunkers. Crawling, throwing satchelcharges, pushing bangalores into barbed wire, firing flamethrowes, ect. poses.

  5. John Wallace says:

Good to see that the Charbens and Cherilea molds may soon be back in action. I wonder what happened to the iconic Cherilea ‘Execution Set’ mold ? it has never been re-run.
Also, when Toyways re-issued the Lone Star figures , they never included the iconic US Civil War, the Africa Corp Germans, Robin Hood figures or the Modern Army or Red Berets. I wonder why these molds were never put into action ?

    • Mark T. says:

I wish someone could obtain the Lone Star Wild West figures and reissue them. When I was a kid, I had a set of Lone Star cowboys. I have one or two of them still. When my mother took me back to the toy store to get the Indians, they were all sold out. I’ve been watching for years for reissues, but they never came.

  6. Peter Evans says:

When TOYWAY bought the mould banks from Wisbech they were given no inventory.
The ranges put into production were the only Lone Star tooling that was found.
There might have been more but they were working to a deadline to clear the factory before demolition.
I visited the premises some months before and there were well over 100 different sets of tooling including a lot of Tudor Rose and Poplar Playthings moulds.
They were stacked on top of each other and needed a fork lift truck to move them
It’s possible that other Lone Star cavities were there but never found before the closure.

  7. ERWIN SELL says:

A large majority of toy soldiers vintage molds had been scrapped or let outside to damage x ever.
    Is sad but a reality.
The owners and makers ,businessmen did not think of then as we value them.

  8. John Wallace says:

    To Peter Evans.
Hi Peter, do you have any knowledge or hypotheses as to what may have happened to the Cherilea ‘Executioner Set’ moulds/tooling? This set was not re-released with the others

  9. Paul Caruso says:

Mars D Day Figures look Great can not wait to create Nomandy there Figures are the plastic equivalent to The KoC Metal Figures but way Cheaper Keep up The GOODWORK

  10. Everett Atwater says:

Do you know what other sets Mars and chintoys will have in the future

    • admin says:

We have no idea about Chintoys as they keep everything close to the vest. Mars has a German cannon coming up. I will be posting that in the near future.

  11. John Wallace says:
