Jake’s Flea Market Finds Marx Warriors of the World

Jake’s Flea Market Finds, I relate the items I found at this flea market this past weekend..

Jake’s Flea Market Finds a Day at the Market

Jake's Flea Market Finds Blue Box
I saw on Facebook that some of the dealers who would have set up at Das Aws Fescht, which was canceled were going to set up at Jake’s Flea Market. Jake’s is ten miles further down from the canceled show. I decided to take a look. I arrived at the show and walked down one aisle and found a Deluxe Reading fireman. Just as I was leaving, I spotted a bag containing the Blue Box children from one of the zoo sets.

Went up another aisle and found a permanent stand that sells toys. The dealer had a bunch of Marx comics and Disney character figures. The prices were great for a collector. He also had some Warriors of the World with no boxes or cards. His prices he had the World War One French and World War Two Germans were same as Warrior of the World pirates.
pYRO dukw
I started to roam again and found on a hill a dealer with damage on the windshield and one side of the DUKW. Still, someone might be interested in it.

More Finds

tent
I also found this tent which was made by either Timpo or Dulcop.
Marx farmer
I also found this Marx farmer for a vehicle.
Figures for the collection
These are the items I found for myself. I have no idea who made the little girl on the left. The Deluxe ReadingfiremanI will either give to a friend or keep for me. Te western figure is hard plastic and I feel is from a model kit. The Plasticville assign I found laying in the middle of an empty stand spot. There was no one to give it to, so I kept it.

The market was not crowded. I would say about 25 percent of spaces were being used. I have been told that other markets are the same. Right now, the poor attendance at the markets is being blamed on the COVID virus and the high humidity. The prices were fair. One of my friends looked at bags of figures which only had a few undamaged figures. He felt it was worth only$5.00 and pass as the dealer wanted $20.00. J8ust as he set it down another person grabbed it and bought it.

I was pleased and will be back again.

The french WW1 of WOW series by Marx are one of my favorite as more in action poses in set along the US Gi’s or marines -depending in paint .The french poses are very well done and in good action poses ,too bad no recast as british WW2 in soft plastic in 90s as may be a good set sale back then with lack french before AIP sets come ,many poses can be used as WW2 also as uniform weapon did not varied much by 1940s .Scale 60/65 mm scale of course but in my collection those are my other great range too .
The Tent looks like Timpo to me if back section is molded in bended as Dulcop original has a side window opening in one of sides ,there is a very good chinese design version that differ from both brands but more alike Timpo in almost same scale ,it has back removable section is sold by DGNand BMC in the ACW sets playset .
you can see the three style tent here .

Thanks Paul for sharing the flea-market impressions and showing the finds. Great opportunity to come with you on
    an fleamarket in your area.

Erwin is right the West-man with long boots is Buffaloe Bill made by Café Legal from France as a give-away when you bought their coffee. He was given away in golden or silver hardplastic and was not painted. He should have a gun in his right hand.

    Greetings

      Andreas and Erwin
Thanks for the information. When I got him I thought of him was Buffalo Bill. I check a site and you are right he is with a rifle. It is amazing what shows up sometimes.
Honestly, this was a good fleamarket most times I find nothing.
Here is a link to show the other figures from this line.

That is very encouraging! Some great finds! I really wish they had recast the WoW Germans and French. They would have made some money off of me if they did.
Alright Paul, now you got to find me some Cherilea Russians!

  4. The small red girl might be the Goldilocks figure made by Emenee although the ones I have had were yellow.

  5. Mark T. says:

I am pretty sure the tent is Timpo. I have some Dulcop recasts and they have a window in the side of the tent. Also, the wrinkles in the canvas are more like the Timpo pattern.
