Comansi made so many different figures and size. Here we have three and a half-inch tall knight with mace and shield. This is a later production. Comansi knight as it has done unpainted the earlier figures were painted.
Comansi cowboy
Here we have a Comansi cowboy figure ( I hope) The pose is nice but the figure is a little thin.

Other Spanish Figures

Pech Western
Erwin has mentioned several times that the Pech Hermanos did western figures but they were never reissued. I found these figures in the collection, which I believe are Pech. These figures were in a large lot from the UK many years ago. I had a great interest in Spanish figures.after getting a large lot at a show.
Pirate lunging
This is a later issue or copy of Jescan pirate. You will notice that there is a round object that this figure could have been used as a lollipop holder.
Mystery figure
This figure was in my Spanish box. I am not sure if it is Spanish or who made him.

Other Figures

King Figure
This is a figure that I had and sold then got back. As I mention some time ago Laurie and I were in the UK. After a Plastic Warrior Show, Michael Smith showed us, Eaton, where he and his brother went to. In a closed book store, I spot this game that has a 54mm King with 20mm figures. Michael was able to get the set for me. After several years, I sold the set when we move. A few years ago we were visiting a dealer friend of ours. going through his miscellaneous figures I found he had the king, which I purchased and added to the collection.
Merten Indian
Over the years I have gotten various Merten figures. Our favorite ones from Merten are the centaurs. This is one of their Indian figures. You notice he is holding a scalp. I wonder if this figure would be political correct it today.. I doubt it.

    In order
The COMANSI knights 90 MM is actually a recast of same sets I import.
These figures set were too large in a typical about 3″ odd scale that was not a good sale
I carry only 25 sets of theses in 90s .they come mix colors in white ,yellow, red, orange and green in a bag of 8 or 10.Original set has a catapult and was sold in a case as siege catapult set with it 5 poses made only in this scale ,included a pose carrying a rock .
Sets i import do not come with catapult
There was even another nice set made in 120 mm by COMANSI with 10 great poses ,three mounted and sold as Torneo-Tournament set .It was in 90s still available x recast but i never import it .
    Of the 90 mm i sold loose poses x 50 c at Hackensack show in 2002/2003 .
Comansi did a crusades/saracen nice set in 12 poses .I only have one full test sample offered ,but did not import then .

As admin mentioned COMANSI did many scales 30,65,75 ,90 ,120 mm .These is because as MARX they last longer than any other in business and try accomodate all likes .In late 60s to early 70s as Marx did with large scales coming to market they(Comansi) too made then .
COMANSI is still in business and sale few of new production nice western sets .

Cowboy shooting rifle is Jecsan .3 set western 16 poses of 3 er series .

Two cowboy if old rubber are PH -Pech Hermanos indeed and very old poses production in excellent condition$$$ .

The pirate is Ramsa ,not Jecsan and the hole/part made is original set made x a series made with that in 70s to attach to the ship sold with it .

The soldier is Japanese figure by Jecsan ,last production before company close down .
    Jecsan set had 12 poses.
The mold of Japanese ,British/Aussies prisoners and marines sets were never offer for recast by Puchol who owned the mold back then in late 80s when many Jecsan molds were recast .Jecsan only did 3 WW2 sets .The aussies/British prisoner set is one of best ever made along with large bridge x large playset “Bridge over river Kwai”
The artist who work x Jecsan did most mold sets x PH .

The king pose looks awesome .it is been use in a game at sale in Target as well.

Figures with scalp today will be very offensive of course, even so they are 100% correct historical .
French,West German,EAST germany ,Poland and Spaniards makers did many poses of it in their sets/Brands .They depict the indians in many cases much better than US makers in my opinion /like .
    My thoughts.
    Best

  2. Jack Gibbons says:

The king figure did come with a fold out book that became a castle, along with the silver HO knight figures. The same company also did a pirate- themed book, complete with a unique painted plastic 54mm pirate. I saw these both at Michael’s in the book section. Somebody had removed the pirates from three of the books. I am assuming they did not pay for them on the way out of the store.

The “Scalp” looks more like he cut the tail off an enemy horse,LOL.

  4. james nixon says:

Any idea what the book was called which turned into a castle.
