Stadsstuff’s WordPress 8th Anniversary

Stadsstuff’s WordPress 8th Anniversary, there are a number of anniversaries I could celebrate in regards to my many years in the hobby. I have found I like to celebrate perhaps the newest one going over to WordPress as it ushered in a new era for my website and Stad’s. Prior to that, I was using FrontPage, but it did not have the scope of WordPress. I have talked about this before, still, it is interesting.

Stadsstuff’s WordPress 8th Anniversary Thoughts

Doing a blog takes a lot of work. While people share information, the blog master has to get into shape. You have to go by certain rules if you want the post to stand out for the search engines to catch it and rank it high. It is an on going job and you have to keep learning. There many sources for information on how to improve your site, which I did not have when I started using WordPress. so I am making improvements such as Grammarly as I get time.

While I could add photos in Front Page, it seems so much easier in WordPress. I am also able to add videos from YouTube, showing things you may have missed.

One of our favorite postings are toy shows. I remember one reader years ago of my old printed lists saying he enjoy reading on my trips. It allowed him feel he was there. The photos add to that experience. I hope some of you try to get to these shows. You will have your magical moment.

Another favorite feature is the showcasing of new figures. I remember the years we went without new figures. Now we have a proliferation of new figures mostly from Eastern Europe like this Warhansa medieval figure.

I enjoy sharing my collection with you. From the photos you get to see figures you never knew exist. If I don’t know who made it or get the company wrong, I don’t get upset. Case in point the above Lone Star cowboy. I had it as Crescent. I was happy for the correction.

On this figure, it took a while until a French collector identified being made by a French company called Miniajouet. I like how we share information.

Thank Yous

There are many people have helped this blog this past year and I would like to thank them. First are my friends from Europe Markus Lecksheid, Peter Bergner, Detlef Heerbrand, Peter Evans, Andreas Dittmann, and Brian Carrick. From the Unite States Rich Fisher, Ed Borris, Rahway, and Bill Lango who miss dearly as gem of a man. I have especially thank Erwin Sell who has been a great help.

inal Thoughts

You can never rest on your laurels. I will be working hard to keep improving the site. Last year we add videos from YouTube. This year I hope to get the home page in a new format. It takes time with everything else I have going on. So sit back and enjoy. I have many new items to post.

Paul- I just want to thank you for all the time and effort you put into your site. You were one of the first dealers I started doing business with back in the early 1980’s . You always took the time to talk and answer any questions I had about an item on your list or just the hobby in general. You have always been unselfish in your sharing of information and have done a great deal to advance the hobby. Thanks also for letting me share my photos of figures and helping me identify my unknowns. All the Best- Rich

Congratulations on 8 years. I don’t comment much, but really appreciate the color photos and all the information. It’s fun to see the new items, old rare items and especially the European manufacturers, which don’t get as much attention in the U.S.
