In our last post we talked about Solpa from Greece.  Solpa made copies of Airfix and Matchbox.  Gianmario Chiesa on Facebook show one of the hardest sets to find from Solpa the anti-terrorist squad. The Solpa figures were based on the Airfix SAS figures.

We hope to have more photos from Gianmario in near future.  He has a great web site on Atlantic and other figures which you can see here.

I received from Detlef some Jean western figures.   This cause me to go through my German figures box looking for doubles.  I found some other interesting figures. Here we have another one of the Elastolin military figures. This time it is red beret soldier.

Elastolin did swoppet cowboys both in 54mm and 70mm. This is one of the 70mm swoppet cowboy. What is interesting the base is metal.

Both Elastolin and Plasty made some interesting swoppet figures. On the left is Elastolin swoppet civilan. He can be seen with a cane or a gun. On the right is is one of the Plasty cowboy in coat. I like how designed for the more nothern climates.

We will show more in the next post.

Most American kids had Timmee army figures.  The only one I had of three as a child was the flagbearer. I used him as a officer in my stories. The middle figure was one of their final army figures.  The nurse was copied from the Marx nurse.

We have one of the common Timmee GI figures with a mystery figure for me.  I thought it might be one later Timmee or Werner. It is not do you know?

Literally most SOLPA,not all appear to be cloned ,not copied .Same as those Airfix few poses sets made in Soviet-Russia transition era by company Progress( i think was the brand name) in mid 80s alte 90s .
So interesting to know how both manage copy clone then exact detail by detail or do they got hand in some double molds else during the French mold production of Airfix Molds since 80s ?

Hey Stad! I’m pretty sure this mystery figure is again Tim-Mee. After the first issue series I understand Tim-Mee went back and added a base to this guy, and to the radioman as well. Looks like in the photo this sniper’s scope has been removed/cut away.

  3. Yes Tim-Mee made a final 60mm armyman mold about 1965 that had the final series of figures including the motorcyclist and the man running with ammo boxes. The mold also had remakes of some of the original poses with both the kneeling radioman and sniper poses getting bases. These figures may have been made to fight the Russian soldiers made at the same time.
