Rick Fisher sent me the photos that he wanted identified. Here is what he said.

I bought these French Foreign Legion at a local flea market.

They all appear to have been made by the same company but in 3 different scales(1 3/4″ ,2″ , & 2 1/4″) and all in soft plastic.

The first figures are I believe Cofalu. Rick is curious if he has all the poses. The smaller French Foreign Legion I am not sure who made them. Do you?

Rick also send this photo as well. the figure on the left in Dom 54mm Indian Maiden. It is from the Karl May series. The other one is a Roche 60mm Indian maid.  It is part of their Davey Crockett series.

Here we have Ohio Arts Farm Hands and a cow.  I picked these up somewhere.  The cow  I am not sure who made it.

It is amazing how many companies did swoppet style figures long after Britains quit.  Here we have some Indians from Hong Kong.

Payton did various figures. They did a number of three to four inch figures.  These figures are not in demand. I had the cavalry figures as  a child.  It was the only one I collected as an adult.

Readers’ Contributions Questions Odds Ends Part One April 2018 Laugh Time

My foreign critic is back.  He is upset that I used the word twerp on him. This is from a person that calls people by very demeanding and possible racist words.  Whether professional or not the word twerp fits him, a silly, insignificant, or contemptible person

He also claims I write my legend in a black book. I do not know where he got that. The only black book I have is a small notebook which I got from American Express years ago. I use it for information for my travels.  My journals are red and honestly are quite boring. It just lists what I did that day by in large.

I do not worry about my legend status. There are other things to worry about.  Such as family  or trying to improve one’s life. My big concern is doing this site, which I hope many of you enjoy.  I have a lot of fun doing it.

As to why I titled this section laugh time,  I find this person’s attacks funny.  They do not hurt me at all. All he has done is show his own foolishiness. He should stick to his showing of his finds and leave me alone. I have been dealing with this much longer than he has. All I want to do share my interest in the hobby.

I know it must take a lot of time to keep this site going, Paul, and that you don’t receive any direct financial compensation from it. It gives many of us a social outlet for our toy soldier interests we otherwise would not have. And you basically allow everyone to express their toy soldier opinions with very few restraints, which I think all of us appreciate.

  2. Cow made by Auburn Toys with the Auburn Toys AT brand on it’s hip.

  3. Mike Handley says:

Paul, We all appreciate the work you do to keep this web page going and keep new info on plastic toy soldiers out in the open. The “twerp” sounds like a guy who just wakes up everyday grumpy and sets out to start complaining about everything hoping others will join his misery. Don’t give him a second thought.

  4. berthoux says:

    Hello Paul,
the French foreign legion are copies of Starlux (except the grenade thrower, wich is Cofalu copy).
They have made in the 70’s for five and dime stores by Hugonnet.
    Best from France

  6. Daniel Murphy says:

I had the Payton four inch Cowboys and Indians as a little child. I liked them a lot. The figure fit snuggly on their horses and were easy for little hands to manipulate. Thanks for the memories!

  7. Mathias says:

For Erwin, the manufacture is Vilco (but not for those ones).

I obtained many figures from you a few decades ago and you were great to deal with. As for your information on figures it is terrific to have someone so keen on the hobby and to show us so many wonderful figures.

As for differences of opinion, that will always happen at some point.

  10. RicH Fisher says:
