Christmas Figure Surprise Part Two
The biggest surprise in the box was these two Merten Centaurs. They will go into Laurie’s collection. years ago Laurie went over to UK for toy soldier show at the Royal National. (I had to stay home for various reasons.) She had a great time as Peter Bergner and Michael Smith took her under their wings. One of the items she bought were Merten centaurs from Erno Tegli Erno was the first German I met. He would come up with some interesting items. Laurie was so excited she called me her find. At 4:00AM in the morning my time. She later got annoyed with me when I sold them. There at least another pose of throwing a spear.
As soon as Laurie saw these they are mine.

These are the figures that I am keeping. The figure on the left is Bullyland Indian. To the right of it is a Jim French Revolution figure. It is 54mm. Our next figure is a Medieval figure from China. I love these figures. the helmet is all wrong. (One of my minor characters wears a hat like that in my fantasy series.) The figure’s left hand is holding behind his back. Our final figure is a Timpo cowboy squatting. I like the color of the vest against the shirt.

These are some other Timpo cowboys Markus send me. I like the cowboy on the right with the knife. they did not last long due to the pose.

The medieval catapult crew is by SIMBA from their castle playset.there 4 poses.included one mounted.
The are base in construction worker poses with minor variation.
    Their are nice to me.
The long coat depiction is very rare in old makers.Elastolin and Plasty did their best w it as they use multipart x it making looks more realistic.
    Best

Nice Centaur figures, I saw them once on ebay and tried to buy them but i was outbid.

  3. Wayne Wood says:

I like the Centaur figures, too – though normally I’m not in to fantasy. I must admit my first thought when I saw the picture was (of the guy on the left) – “I didn’t know Centaurs played cricket.”

  4. Darren Hatley says:

Its ok Wayne i new what you meant the first time. Yeah with a bat like that he could easily smash a few sixes.
