  1. They look really nice. I’ll think I might get some of these. I would like to see them first hand before I buy any.

  2. Evanoelrichs says:

Look fantastic looking forward to getting my hands on them!

  3. George Albany says:

Now, finally, an excuse to use up all the blue paint I’ve been stockpiling!

  4. Don Perkins says:

We haven’t seen such an array of quality sets like Expeditionary Force has offered over the past several years since Richard Conte debued on the scene many years ago, and began offering one original playset after another in quick succession.

No one who ever acquired an ExForce set has ever had any reason to be disappointed. They are all truly great figures.

I’m hoping the usual cast of suspects don’t start trying to nitpick these fine figures to death.

  5. ERWIN F SELL says:

All do i like EXF ,this time i have few observation in the bad side as they do expensive figures in deep detail and claim very historical data copied.
    in my personal opinion…

First most and largest important Celtic warriors and celt people wars/BATTLES were fought long before to foundation of the Roman empire at all!! .In other words from 390 BC till 52/50BC by late roman kingdom and Republics.NOT the empire at all
So these wars are not belong to the proper Roman Empire wars -enemies they fought
at all with very minor exception such late Boudica-Iceni rebellion and north Britain/+Caractacus and Ireland minor conflicts of early Empire plus few minor expedition wars in what today is Scotland .
The Roman army varied extensively from 390 BC till 52B in republic period and much more during AD empire era .You can not use same war roman set for so many centuries period ,neither celts were or used same alike armour weapons /clothing all over these regions and time frame at all!!?>?
What is wrong with logic here is very odd to me !!!
The Romans represented in this set are definitely 1st-2nd century Roman way after these major Celtic conflicts and most battles
The Celts represented in this set least are typical Gaelic warriors in appearance and most in summer as those of gaelic wars of Cesar last campaign .
The british celtic used chariots in early campaign in lower region and barrely never in late rebellion against empire with possible Iceni short rebellion only mentioned by roman historians.
Gaelic ,celtic and celts from Iberia (Spain-Portugal barely used charios but massive cavalry according to battle roman records and excavations)
The one Roman flat scutum rectangular shield represented is not way typical in scale with soldier in this type as is a flat of more late period reduced size, the early scutums and early empire are more cylindrical and smaller type range from 105.5 centimetres (41.5 in) high, 41 centimetres (16 in) across, and 30 centimetres (12 in) deep (due to its semi cylindrical nature). The roman armour are mix of different era in design, very odd for same era wars and many centuries covering these conflicts.

The Roman are far late after that main celtic wars period war regions made and 2nd early 3er AD in my opinion as far i see.
The celts warriors are possible good as germanic/tracia else period wars still .
    my thoughts.

      Aclaratory add on comment please…
Yet not doubt figures are very well done and again made by what i consider the “King” of plastic toy soldier already surpassing AIP and Conte others producer by far so short time (2013)_ starting producing and already such vast amount varied sets and wars covered with great detail and dynamism design of poses.

    • TDBarnecut says:

Don’t forget that toy soldiers from one era can fight toy soldiers from any other time or place – it’s in the rule book I looked it up.

    • George Albany says:

I’m not a serious scholar of Rome, its armies, or the appearance of the legions over the course of the life of the Empire. I do know, however, that a wall was built during Hadrian’s rule to keep my ancestors in what is modern day Scotland. My forebears had an annoying habit before going into battle of disrobing and painting themselves blue (a sacred color to the Celtic people). So there were Celtic – Roman interactions in Britain, at least until the wall was built. How many events,I can’t speak to, but why else build a wall?

      • Don Perkins says:

My ancestors (MacDonalds) were on the same north side of Hadrian’s wall as George’s. However, I don’t think the wall was designed so much to keep them IN as it was to keep them OUT — the early Scots didn’t always behave well in civilized society! Thankfully, our modern-day behavior is much improved!

  6. H. Paas says:

    looking good

  7. Michael Purchase says:

    Very impressive figures!
I will buy some of these figures when they are released. These are the among the nicest figures being currently made.
Thanks Scott for your fine figures & your high quality of craftsmanship.

  8. Wayne W says:

I know I’ve harped on prices, before, but for me (at least) it’s feasible to use these superb guys to add some variation and life to my scenarios if they are compatible with TSSD and Conte. Exciting news.

    • ERWIN F SELL says:

The scale is perfect match with TSSD and CONTE,Supreme ancient /classic figures plus “no name russian” brand and most 60/65 mm included reissued Marx, cherilea,Reamsa and Jecsan ,Starlux else .Unfortunately not with Hat ,Italeri,CTS or other classic 54 mm if exposes too close, but again the distance scene disposition of poses figures may help include then al together .I think the price is adjusted/accepted by looking in diversity poses to be Created and new prices rise in today production .
      my thoughts .

      • Tom Black says:

The good thing about Italeri Celts/Gauls, like all Italeri the heads are big for their overall scale. So if your into conversions and have extra Italeri Gauls you can do head swaps with these Ex Force figures. I did some with Ex Force and Italeri Medieval range and they look good.

  9. Jack Gibbons says:

Barbarians are barbarians. Bring on the hordes! My legions are looking to take on all comers north and east of the frontiers. Even vikings with horned-helmets work.

I look forward to purchasing these new sets (along with his Romans.)

  10. Peter Evans says:

Do they have sling shots and catapults using Gaul stones as ammunition ?

  11. Darren Hatley says:

As usual very nice figures from Ex-Force and i think they look Great but i see they are described as taller than the other Ex-Force figures. Which will take them over 60mm and because i’m fussy with the scale of my figures as some of you will know i’m afraid i will probably have to pass on these as they will make my other Barbarian types look like Dwarfs, But i wont make up my mind completely until ive seen them up close?
