Plastic Showcase Part One August 2017 Marx 45mm Gas Station Attendants

Plastic Showcase Part One August 2017Most of us got a Marx gas station playset at one time in our childhood.  Marx made many different variations.  The set first had 60mm figures which were replaced with 45mm figures.  My father put the gas station together.  Since we had no box for  station, it sat on a table in my playroom. I used it as gas station but  I used it for other things.  It was a fort, bank villian hideout and industrial center.  I still have it and it gave me many great  adventures.

Plastic Showcase Part One August 2017  Marx Ranch Kids

Plastic Showcase Part One August 2017

Here is one of the Marx Ranch Kids reissue. Until I acquired the ranch kids inreissue I do not remember seeing any. The set contained 14 pieces adult (Roy Rogers) , dog and 12 ranch kids.  according to Kent Sprecher some of the children were modeled on Roy’s children. The originals are hard to find that is why people were happy when I brought them up from Mexico.

I had gone down to Mexico for a toy fair. There AI dound a company called Dinamicos. I bought from them French and to fill the order  I bought the 54mm Roy Rogers character figures with ranch kids. The figures sold well and I ran out of them before I ran out of the ranch kids. Sadly Dinamicos went out of business and I have no idea where the molds are.

Plastic Showcase Part One August 2017 Flea Market Find

Plastic Showcase Part One August 2017

I need packing tape and I decided to go to one of my flea markets to see if I could get some.  I figure it was late in the day I would find nothing. Before getting thetape, I walked the market and found a dealer selling recent figures for a quarter each.  From him, I got Dexter from Dexter’s Laboratory, two females and the barbarian.

I went farther down the row and had a surprise. A dealer had two of the Charbens 60mm bull fighters.  I did not have them in my collection so I acquire them. Over all I was please what I found and got my packing tape.

Plastic Showcase Part One August 2017  Premier Army

Plastic Showcase Part One August 2017Premier is known more for its space figures and ships. They also did 3 Army figures in 45mm.. The detail is not great and the really need a base. I found the standing figures in junk box.  A friend in europe may have them so I will send them with other figures.  The kneeling figure I got in Macungie  It was a small bag of figures for fifty cents.

Further finds, Paragon has released their set number Two’s, Alamo Defenders and Attackers, most dealers should have them by now. Their Plains Indians are planned to debut at the Chicago Toy Show next month.

I have two of those Premier figures, not the one marching. I always though they came with some model or something. I have a bag of weird hard plastic figures that has all sort of strange figures in it, every time I get a lot of mixed figures if I run into any hard plastic ones they go in that bag.

  3. Wayne W says:

I received the Marx gas station for my seventh birthday. I immediately converted it to a stronghold for my toy soldiers.

LOL.well i check my Bullfight reissues sets and they are different ,unless Charbens made other set.I check my Cherliea too and not then either.
I do not know of other British brand making Bullfighters.
Which by the way is a complete mistery knowing UK has not history of it in why they did it.
I know several French makers did as well mexican too.
I need check my COMANSI,Jecsan(did two 3 sets,I have one only) ,Pech Hermanos did two sets too,Reamsa and other 4 Spaniards brands too did more THAT i do not have none.
These two looks very unfamiliar to me at simple view ,but as not may main collection area i could be all wrong of course.
        best..
