Plastic Showcase Marx Plastic Figures Part Two we are taking our second look at Marx. Marx did a wide range of figures for various reason. We will see of another presantation figures. One of the political figures that would later become presdient. We will do some color variations a reissue or two to interest you.
Plastic Showcase Marx Plastic Figures Part Two Regan and Zuhhkov
Here we have Ronald Regan and Marshall Zhukhov. The Regan piece is from when he ran for president in 1968. Marx would make figures of the candidates for each presidential election. The easiest to find is Hubert Humphrey. The Republican candidates for 1968 and Robert Kennedy are the hardest to find. As we know Ronald Regan became president in 1981. So techincally Marx made a President Ronald Regan figure just for the wrong year.
The Marshall Zukov may be a presentation figure like the figure Louis Marx did of Mendes of France. I can find no record of Zhukov visting the United States.

The figure on the right is Marx 45mm tom Corbett big ear figure. As you notice the figure is in red. This color was used not in a playset, but as a giveaway in macorni. I was able to convince my mother to buy a box which I got this figure. I used to use him as a villian especially when I was doing super hero stories.
The figure on the right is a reissue on the schoolhouse boys with hands on hips. It is one of those figures I do not remember where I got it. I did have a school bus at one time I had gotten in Mexico which had Marx kids. Another mystery to day be solved.
The figure on the left is 60mm Curella Deville from 101 Dalamations. This figure was sold painted but somehow I got a bunch unpainted. These were suppose to be made in Germany.
The figure on the right is a test show of the pharmacist from the skyscraper playset. You can see the color is different from the Rip Masters we showed in Part one.

Never heard of the M Zhukov MARX figure before. Very interesting…
He was the main high ranking Soviet era officer from post war to keep and a friendly relation with most high ranking generals and politician of the west. He personally befriend Eisenhower
He was complete accord with the rebuild economical and social of both Germany and push for a better more competitive plan very alike as plan Marshal in order to emulate it .Yet often been criticized and having much more obstacles that forbid him implement a good rehabilitation as that implemented in West Germany and let to more close Economical system let by Stalin in which he did not agree and was removed from take action. He was very Anti Stalinist and against personality cult,very pro reformist and very far from fanaticism as most Soviet leaders were.
His view and action are very well documented with positive note in many western leaders biography books versus that of other Soviet leaders and generals during the cold war.
The figure may had been made as Marx knew Eisenhower knew he was a friend of Zhukov.
There many in the west who though he could be the next after Stalin death and will bring reforms early but all took a very long way and not accordingly Unfortunately.
