Chintoy French Napoleonic General Staff Figures

Chintoy French Napoleonic General Staff Figures our very good friend Andrey from Russia has sent us photos of these new figures. As we mentioned before these figures showed up on various sale lists in Europe. They are now being offered by American dealers.  Chintoys is doing four sets. The one set people want are Sharpe’s Rifles. The other three sets are Napoleonic General Staff sets.  The first set of this group is French Napoleonic staff.

The figures are very detailed. Collectors  will want them for any Napoleonic scene. There are questions on where these figures were made. One collector noticed that the sculpting and plastic is similar Engineer Bassevitch. He sent us these two photos.

The person could be correct that the figures are not made in China as we are assuming. They may have been some where else.  The figures are not are sold in a box. The figures are sold a plastic bag with a card.  I have looked at the photo of the set on Ebay. I do not see any made in on it. We will see once we get more information.

Update: Billy Hirn has identified three of the poses.

I’ve ordered at least one of each of the currently available sets. May get one or two more depending on how useful the generals might be for Mexican staff. At the very least my 1/32 French Army could stand for more command and control.

The Sharpe’s troops will (as I’ve said) enhance my British ranks.

  2. Carl Cwiklinski says:

Which American dealers are carrying them?

    • admin says:

At the moment the only one we know of is Michigan toy. As we hear od others we will let you know.

      • Don Perkins says:

If you google “Michigan Toy Soldier Company”, these new Chintoy Napoleonic Staff figures will appear on the Main Page, 8 figures in 8 poses, 1/32 scale, regular price $29.99, but a pre-order price of $25.49, expected in this month.

I plan on getting down there in person to pick up a set just as soon as their website says they are actually in.

        • Don Perkins says:

I notice on the Michigan Toy Soldier Company website the Sharpe’s Rifles set is also available for pre-order at the same discount.

  3. Mark McNamara says:

Nice ! Although seem a little short and pudgy, rather see them ( and a lot of other maker’s figures ) a liitle more slender .Left out the short part.

  7. Erwin says:

    Wayne,sorry.Never rush..:-) 🙂 🙂
Least you can get other sets from this seller…

    • Wayne W says:

You’re right there, Erwin – I should have learned from the times I’ve been burned being “the first kid on the block” to get a set just to see prices bottom out AFTER I spent top dollar; by the same token, how many times have I passed or waited just to see a set go out of production and be almost impossible to find and if so, at a price out of my budget?

I guess it’s all a roll of the dice. As I told my kids – sometimes a bargain depends on whether or not YOU’RE happy with the price you paid.

And you are right about being able to get more from this seller. As I said, “thanks.”

I use dollar cost averaging some items I get cheap and they balance the higher purchases. Most of all you enjoy the item you have. I was offered the Speedwell armor car on fire. The price was a thousand dollars. This was my most desired want of all time. Laurie had to put up with one hour debate as pondered if I would pay it or not. I passed. I later got it for the price I wanted $5.00. I now own two the other was a gift from a friend. I have missed other items and I say to myself I have more than enough to enjoy. I keep finding little treasures. I purchased recently a lot of Marx figures and in it was a Plasty civilian. They are hard to find. I will be posting it soon.

        • Erwin says:

          I agree with all.

        • Andy says:

I was looking for a 1970s Britain’s plastic Concord Overland Stagecoach. Saw one listed with some minor defects on eBay & asked questions, but seller never replied. High priced dealer in NYC had one listed MIB for $800 which was silly. Found one recently on eBay listed under “Lead Figures” and won auction. Plastic item was MIB, down to little uncut cardboard inserts and elastic band attaching driver & shotgun rider, from a collector’s estate. My total with shipping was $64.98! 8% of the $800 price. The seller even threw in an old Britain’s Indian canoe, mint on card, as a “bonus for being a good buyer”…… Don’t panic & pay high prices; the stuff is out there.

          • Erwin says:

I been doing and saying same x long.
I had pretty much all I want w time… I had skip and miss some.
Because my all eras collection.I can not collect all ,but try make my best.
I’m happy with what I had found and few I had paid more but because I want it.
In ebay ,todo colleccion and other international bid sites I had got most x great deal prices but because either later bird or search under not right category listed.I barrely bid when an item is listed in right category as I know will be a big fight.
I do offer to sellers when list as accepting. Most time say yes.
If not I do not get crazy.
If item is in not mint I get it easy I do not collect mint sets in most unless a low deal.
I’m not planning displaying an store toy museum but my own battles or historical dioremas.
Neither much space x so many original boxes.
I have x years wreap off and discard old nice cases that many will cry for.
            Not my interests.
I do not collect playsets in most.
            Not my fan fun.
Neither I buy any new playset but only one from Barzso back in 2002.
I do not like foam building or accesories, too fake x me,I can do most terrain bunkers my self if want too.
Houses w close or not windows are too ugly x me and considred too expensive x such product.
Wood buildings made by few out there are more nicer.
Most my building are plastic frim all around world.
Im pro plastic and try a side from no Plastic, still I havevto.use some non plastic accessories.
In old vintage if I consider a single figure is value $5.00 or more I could paid for.Not x large lot or sets.
On new production that value is top x me.Rarrely I will paid more.
            Tanks,vehicles,cannon,castles ,else is another thematic.

      • Erwin says:

Yes Wayne, some times is a dice and if we do not hurry,it is gone.
        I agree.
In these particular line as soon I notice few european and Michigan annunced I knew was not limited x short time,so I google and made contact w this seller that is been doing hobby kit line sales x wile .The fact he carry it much cheaper than rest actually make me think the sets are offered much cheaper to wholesale rs ….so again should be good to get as now from him before he may increase I guess.
Other sets he respond not be possible till after three month least as not in mold done yet.
Any how all rest announce are staff ,intersting only action was about british army wich may indicate they target britain market first .No wonder three hobby stores there carry or annunce then first back in August.
Lets hope the move fast and continued.
Figures are well detalied and nice poses, using same exact technique and possibly plastic as EB from Russia but not with CRAZY prices .
Getting then here w low shipping is also great.

  8. Bill Nevins says:

I refuse to pay ridiculous prices for plastic figures. I don’t think that I’ve ever paid more than 2 or 3 bucks for a single figure. I’ll live without it, until I find it myself, one day.

Hey! It took me almost 40 years to find Flint McCullough and Seth Adams.
But, I finally did and the price was under a dollar each.

For me, it’s just more fun that way.

    • Wayne W says:

Bill, I’m usually with you. But there are some exceptions. Erwin, I am definitely putting this seller on my watch list. Really appreciate the heads up.

  9. Erwin says:

I like to add this seller ship so quic.
I ordered in less three days I got it from south west to north to n east.
I will soon do pictures of other set.The detail is great!
    Best…
