Boley GI Figures

Boley GI Figures our very good friend Erwin Sell has sent us some photos of them.   Some of the  figures were inspired or base the  Airfix U.S. army figures. Other figures were new poses.

Here is what Erwin has to say on them. I am missing one a kneeling pose. The same figures were included in playset. The figures were later sold unpainted in bags.

The figures are from bottom base to top helmet max high 57 mm.

I like the  officer with the pistol and will have to look out for him.  We hope to have more  modern figures in the near future.

Yes, Erwin, these are the same figures I mentioned seeing unpainted in the playset at the H.E.B. store in Corpus Christi. That playset had only 6 figures in 6 poses.

When were these figures available in bags? I’ve never seen them before I saw them at H.E.B. Is there anyplace you can get them today? I would love to get a full bag.

      Mark
These figures come out originally in late 90′ early 2000,the playset was sold in two version with the figures you see painted with a truck trailer (1.48 ) scale that fire rockets, a M60 nice tank and bridge collapsible folding over tank in 1.48 scale too plus two trench and few military post/signs. Other version with cannon and humvee ,not rocket launchers was sold too. I got both at K mart.
The bags pup up about same time in other stores, I had not seen them x over 13/14 years least .I only own 14 painted figures PLUS rest playset items as never bought the bags.
      Sorry.
p.s I believe Bill Nevins playset he found(about to weeks ago) is same and has same figures. You need ask him about.

      • Erwin says:

I forgot playset had a small HQ building, small helicopter and large ballistic single rocket, the trailer that has 3 rocket fire them. As far I can remember ,I will have to look x rest as I had tendency split playset in different cases like trenches to one big case, trucks others and so on. I barely conserve original box.
The kneeling pose is exact same kneeling airfix Australian with Bren gun with same modern post WW2 French modern helmet as these figures, instead a Bren gun ,he has a modern bipod machine gun, I will see if find him in few days.
Imperial company from HK in 80 did a revised set of Australian and Gi’s changing helmets but not weapons or gear.
        Nice conversion too.

I listed a photo of the set on here a few weeks ago.
One of the flea market finds.

Interesting all the links and set found recently show only few of the poses per set ,but not all.
Sample if you google you will see the large rocket intercontinental ballistic type with elevated platform in one large set .I had that but together with others. So it most had been sold in many configuration packing.
Bags I saw for some times then gone, never see again but seen some loose not painted poses in mix job lot at ebay some times.

Not on the same subject, ( Not sure how to post a new subject), but after watching “Saving Private Ryan” the other day I got to thinking about the scene of the Germans with the 20mm anti-aircraft gun during the last battle. As far as I know, noone makes one in 1/32. I thought about it, and dug out my BMC anti-air guns from the D-Day set. After looking at them and more thinking, I dug out two of the New Ray anti-air guns on wheels. I removed the gun part from the New Ray and the gun from the BMC, and after a little triming on the back part of the bottom gear on the BMC gun and some sanding on part of the New Ray gun carriage where the gear touches to give it the proper flat trajectory, fit it it on the New Ray gun carriage. It looks nice, maybe not 100% accerate, but nice enough for me. It gives my germans another deadly weapon to use. Now I have to make a gun crew for it. Have any others had to do simalar scrach building to make a weapon no one makes for your troops?

      Yes…
BB did it .I got 6 of them (1980″ of course )on wheels nice historical accurate carriage. And perfect 1.32 scale, a motorcycled/sidecar w driver and a panzer II tank too.Was done for second WW2 German/Italian WWSS set of BB come out in 1982.
Later in 2003 a cloned wasted blister pack with same canon motorcycle and tank( this time with changed turret ) appear I have those too. Could supply pictures of all x compere /else in few days if like..
I also swap the BMC with BB and cloned later carriage and match with minor adaptation too.

I think New ray represent more a British type Bofors 1944 model ,I had used it x it.Some base in NR but slight different had show up too recently.

Did not know BB did one. Would like to see pictures when you can. I made mine just to have something close to the real one to play arround with. (I try to save money and make do when I can.) It looks nice. Would like to get a more realistic one one day if I find one I can afford.
        Thanks for the info.

As soon I pull all out will set pictures and see if admin has time of course, otherwise I will post in my web site store under bottom pages were I’m listing part of my collection with me history drop by drop as is time consuming.
I had seen the cloned BB copies around on eBay, problem is seller often list all mix in one lot with out title .I hate it ,so you have spend time googling and not always x that ,we all got a life to attend first.
