Lod Enterprise Trojans and Greeks

001

A friend loaned me his Lod Enterprise Trojans and Greeks for  review. This is the first offering of this company and if they go over, Lod Enterprises has plans to expand this line with more figures.

002

The figures are well detailed  I like how Lod has done different shield styles for the figures. The faces which can be the downfall of a figure are realistic.004

The figures have the typical problem using this type of plastic the weapons drooped. This is not a major problem as you can dip the weapons in hot water and then straighten them out.

These figures will work well with other ancient figures that have been done so you can start creating an army.

I set mine up against my Atlantic 60mm Greeks and Trojans, and they were a perfect fit scale-wise. The more I look at these LOD Greeks and Trojans, the more I like them. The variation in shields, helmets, and armor are an added plus, because I think the variations in these areas would be historically correct.

One interesting features are the face with beards and long hair, very well and accurate choose ,many toy figures of ancient and other era times are done shave clean. A very hard and not common costume historically to portrait.
Romans and Egyptians are the best known for shaven tradition and not at all time or course. These figures are for the Bronze period very well represented. Way to go, hope they sale fast and in good quantities .

  4. denitz has photo-compared the LOD with the SUPREME and ATLANTIC figures – very favorable!

    It’s not SUPREME, but TOYWAY.

Bill Skinner and I had the misfortune of running into Paul Gruendler at OTSN. Ha Ha Ha! Just kidding! But Paul was in our room for awhile —- his usual gregarious self — even made a few purchases. He’s been long-time friends with Bill Skinner for many years, having lived in the same area and belonged to the same toy soldier club in northern Indiana, southern Michigan. But I met Mr. Gruendler some 20 years ago at an OTSN —- the same OTSN I met Paul Stadinger — and then just get to renew the acquaintance at occasional shows thereafter. But as always, it was a pleasure.

  7. LOL Don!

My per-room budget was $5.00 at OTSN this year, and I only had nine hours to trade. had to get on with business! My ‘gregariousness” often translates into “tactlessness”, and I have had to apologize to more than a few of my fellow, lonsuffering collectors over the years.
Unfortunately, I have combat-related PTSD – only diagnosed in the past two years since going into Vietnam Vets’ group therapy with the VA. That should tell you something!
There is a pic from OTSN 1989(?) in an early issue of Tom Terry’s PLASTIC FIGURE AND PLAYSET COLLECTOR with Stad and me in it, acting up room trading!

  8. OH! I forgot what I wanted to say: Ken Ciak was a real gentleman at OTSN and kindly sold me just two figures to play with my CONTE Spartans. Love these guys, and will put them and the other Greeks up against my X-PLUS Harryhausen Cyclops in my ODYSSEY playset!
