Mars New Taliban Figures

Denitz of Russia is reporting on various forums that Mars Figure company is coming out with six new Taliban figures to go with the ones already out. The figures will be slightly smaller than the first four figures were done, but according to Denitz they will be closer to Airfix in size.  No date was given on when they will be out.

Pictures of them are over at Treefrog.

I agree these Taliban figures will be a great addition to the line. To do Isis figures right now would be considered in poor taste. It will take many years before anyone thinks about doing them.

Sorry admin;the ISIS was a joke. No one will considered now I agree…In fact Russian did the Taliban as they fought then for 15 years and took years after to do 4 poses.Any ways we can use any Taliban with some minor modification like using ninja heads may be!!??To do the other…
Wondering if same sculptor is involved now!!?

Tom Selleck movie has scene where he and Willard Brimley leave Red Cloud and warrior rides out and counts coup. Think movie is called
Cross fire Creek. Different types of Coup sticks used

The Afghan fighters / Taliban guys are good, but thick for an Afghan. They needed to be much thinner. The guy with a Pacoula (sort of beret looking hat) is a bit out of place. That head gear is worn among the Tadjiks and rarely, if ever, by the Pastun people. I know this is ‘picky’ but having lived there for literally years of my life, it glares out at me. Most TB activity is in the Pashtun regions. For fighting Russians, this guy is OK because fighting them had a more universal appeal and lots of Tadjiks, Turkmen, Hazara, etc fought against them.
With a little conversion work they could make passable Middle Eastern ISIS fighters. I guess it would not have wide appeal, though. Personally, I wouldn’t want to play out any scenario of a GWOT battle because it’s too close to home. There was a time I wouldn’t even do WWII desert fights for the terrible feeling it gave me inside. Toy soldiers were and really are, my own personally prescribed therapy. They serve a great many purposes for me and are a source of great joy. So, in summary, the fat Taliban guys are OK and can convert to a lot of other things, too.
